eBay announced My World, which it is calling an updated profile page that "enables you to showcase your personality and interests by combining many of the features already available on eBay." The concept is similar to MySpace, a popular community site with social networking features. eBay's My World will let users draw from existing features on eBay, such as their feedback profiles and eBay Blogs, as well as allowing them to add new content, such as a bio and photos.

| Not enough room for store stock but plenty of room to fritter away on nonsense. Blogs, groups, discussion boards for every little thing, now this? I think I was correct when I said the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. If they have so much spare energy and time they should put it to good use...steamline and clean up some of the glitches on the site! |

| Perhaps Myspace could consider trying to gain copyright so they can go after ebay LOL since Feebay thinks they are only ones that can own the word "It". How ironic they want no one to copy their stuff but more than willing to steal from others. WOW |

Good to see the fee hikes at work!
Personally I don't use all the superfluous features at ebay, and really can't imagine why anyone would. |

I would say this is actually an excellent feature for eBay as it allows a place for alot of contact information ,listings and store blurb on a web page most of your bidders will all be visiting.
A better profile page was much needed and it can be setup fairly quickly ,Me Pages were a great feature and myworld will get more hits
I have no grudge over eBay on this new feature and more then welcome it ;be advised you should have several web pages on the internet and eBay may be launching this feature in a cynical fashion to trap novices on the eBay site but Powersellers that know better should welcome it.
For example to host information on my eBay sites and more for my online service for Slavic books in Russian ,Ukrainian and Polish I've started to use Squiddo Squidoo Lens Slavic Books |

| Seems to me the only thing they want their hands on are the millions of people who have sites on myspace. They forget myspace does not have the dictatorial atmosphere that ebay does. Who, in their right minds, wants to wade thru all the "you can do this, but not this, this or that"? Not me that's for sure. If they wanted a free-wheeling atmosphere that would allow people some latitude - their ME pages would be more of a success. |

I totally agree. They call it opps I used the word it opps sorry again I will not try to type the word it opps dang 3 strikes on myself already lolol Myworld is a farce because Ebay will not allow to express your own self and your own opinions unless it opps is positive to Ebay and you can't say what you want in Ebay'sworld perhaps a better title but it's just another waste of time and it's simply not addressing all the problem they have now it opps will create more problems than they already have.
I'm sorry for using the word it opps but it opps is a part of my english words I use everyday I don't have permission from Ebay to use the word it opps in this thread and if I violate or truble any Ebayers well i'm a Ebayer as well and if you don't like this ebay i got two words for ya S*ck it opps sorry |

| They pull the weirdest garbage on sellers then innocently ask for opinions...."we're listening to your suggestions" - then when you give honest opinions they can't swallow...the pink slaps start flying. Gee, isn't that a great alternative to my space? I sure can't wait to get a space there too :-) |

If there does turn out to be a value to sellers in the ebay MySpace, I am sure those that use it can count on being billed for it down the road. That is of course when enough sellers depend on the extra space and can't effectively sell without it.
Meantime, the searches over there are worse this week than I can remember for a long time, probably a side effect of this wonderful new venture! |
