Thought it would be interesting to see if anyone has have significant sales on Express. I just opted in again in mid September. I have over 100 listings there with an increase in sales in the store both auction and store items, not a one has been from Express. What has your experience been?

I have read A LOT on the eBay Stores Forum in eBay Community section about Ebay Express (EE).

Almost everyone who tried Ebay Express has had similar results. Almost no sales what so ever!

A lot of the Store owners were not happy that eBay has been spending so much time, effort, and money (coding and advertising) on EBay Express just to have those who have tried it cannot get any sales.

Store Owners were also unhappy that eBay is not fixing their main auction and stores site problems (and the fact customer service department seems hopelessly understaffed), while eBay has been going off on tangents with pet projects like eBay Express, Skype, eBay Matchups, Blogs, MySpace-type-Clone, etc. In the mean while their Store and Core fees have been going up very significantly where tens of thousands of people have been dropping Stores recently (because ebay sort of no longer want stores anymore and are forcing people to vacate by reducing stores significantly in Search and increasing their fees/Rent)…

Store Owners are also not happy that eBay seemed to want the Stores to all go Express or Core auctions. But since nobody can get any sales from Express they are not happy [that they wasted their time posting and learning about it]. Also Store owners who sell Vintage, New Discontinued Items, and Used items were not happy because Ebay advertised Express numerously on TV as a place to by New and more Upscale items. Store Owners are also not happy that eBay is going to too many different Auction Types or Tabs that is confusing the buyers and thus splitting up buyers who will search.

So it seems Ebay Express might be one of these pet projects/ideas they will throw against the wall to see if it will stick. Unless they can turn it around somehow (and it seems unlikely) it seems ebay Express might just be left to die…

This is sort of a very general consensus of what the ebay Stores Owners Community thinks about Ebay Express. I'm sure eBay Upper Management and Marketing Department would hold a different view.

I hope this Helps,

I still haven't figured out what makes a listing qualify for EE - but of the sales I've had since September, 90% have been through EE. No idea why!

We (my Mom and I) decided yesterday to drop BINs on core listings on days when sales are slow, maybe we'll get some impulse buyers. We're now down to one good day a week, Sunday. The rest of the week is hit and miss, mostly miss.

OT: mrsmoondog, I love the smilies! :)

Another new wrinkle at Ebay, if buyer pushed a BIN button, they were routed to Express, later pushing the BIN button was sending buyers completely off the site! Still ANOTHER Ebay success! Dixie

Dixie, what do you mean by this? Do you or anyone have a screen shot of this? It may by why ebay stated the EE target audience was existing ebay consumers. Ebay wants their wallet

I was opted in and nada. I finally opted out and I will permanently be opted out until ebay stops disadvantaging used merchandise on the EE marketplace and brings in the categories.

It's reprehensible to me that EE which launched in early spring, has refused to communicate with respesctive categories like they said they would. There is no ETA, yet they continue to say Category managers are looking into this. Because of that inefficiency and disregard I'm not going to be back to EE.

Everyone should be aware that ebay turns on traffic like a switch. They will turn on a switch enough to give you a taste of sales. That will encourage you to all opt in, stock up and then when they have enough on their site in terms of product catalogue... they turn the switch back off. That's what they did with stores. They'll do it with EE so they can exceed their Q4 that they lowered.

CSS,
I wish I did. I'm a total computer ditz. It was being talked about on the soapbox thread on Thursday and Friday and it may have been on the store board too. Buyers who were hitting the BIN button were occ. sent to Express but most were being knocked completely off the site. Someone else posted about it and I looked to see and it was definitely happening.
Since I closed my doors there in August, it wasn't really affecting me but I have friends that have stayed and they were raising the roof about it on the boards. (Unless the comments got pulled and the complainer suspended) That's happening a lot too, as you know only too well.
Maybe somebody else posting here can give you more techie info. I do nursing, not computer. I'm just too clueless about those things!
I'll go take a look and see what specific info remains on the thread. LOL, Dixie

Hi,

I have no idea about EE but I have not had a sale in about 6 days. I read somewhere that they put this persons listings in express and the listings appear and disappear.

All I know for sure...I have been ending my listings on fee bay and was selling one or two things a week and now zip nada nothing. My ecrater store isn't selling either and I can't get verified to list on Yahoo. Bidville is a total bust so far.

I'm going to go broke at this rate and just have one huge Yard Sale. WHY OH WHY did fee bay have to mess with us??? Oh, yeah, they needed more money..SO do I.

:x OK, enough venting, I'll keep listing on ecrater and advertise and over the winter come up with a Plan C!!!

Thanks, Carol aka bgnagn1 :)

Take a look at Wagglepop and iOffer. I've sold a little there. It's just going to take time, even if we could all use the money now! I remember when the CEO of Ebay answered all his email personally Ah, for the good old days!
