Group,
I am possibly looking at puchasing a copy of PHP Pro Bids auction program and I am wondering if there is anyone here that knows how to custom design the home page or them colors and such for this program that would be willing to do custom work for me if I end up getting this program?
I am willing to pay you for your work, provided that your not asking some rediculous price like PHP Pro Bid is. :)
Anyway please let me know if you can help me out with this.
Thanks

Do they allow third party designs on their software? Just asking....no idea. But I do know some software...even though you buy it...doesn't mean you have any rights to alter it without their written permission.
Can I ask....why PHPpro...seriously? Just wondering. Not gonna start blasting the software or anything. Just curious. |

Uh, because its the only one that i found that I like and that I feel meets my needs best. Why? Do you have something else better that you would reccomend me going with that I am not aware of?

Doug - you're being a super nice guy eh? I bet you're pretty frustrated trying to find some help on this issue - but in the end, folks in here would rather pop in and offer SOME tips or comments rather than leave you high and dry.
Bottom line is - a lot of ppl are frustrated with the phpPro script, but if you choose to work with it, that's cool - and sooner or later someone can help you out - sorry it hasn't been one of us so far.
hang in there

Marty,
I hope you dont get the impression that Im being rude or anything, it wasnt meant to be if thats how you took my last reply. Sorry if it did.
Actually the frustrating part of all this is that I thought that I had found the right program for me, but it seems alot of you here dont like PHP PRO BIDS for some reason and are suggesting that I stay away from it, I havent yet figured out why though.
After checking out RSCRIPTS It seems to look and act more like Ebay and I wouldnt mind purchasing a copy of that but the wife tells me NO we are not spending that kind of money on an auction program. :( I hope I can get her to change her mind though. :) But I doubt it.

P.S.
Why dont the members here like PHP PRO BID?
Also after doing some further research on the Rscript program... This thing is way cool, totally awesome! Looks and acts so much like Ebay. I love it! But not the price. LOL
Does anyone know if the Rscripts program will allow me to view SUPERSIZE images by clicking on the thumbnail or a link? I havent found a way to do this yet.
Thanks

Actually I like phpprobid. I'm probably one of the few endusers that do. I have far less problems with the bulk lister, then most anyone else here. But I'm not trying to use every other site bulk lister with a generic cvs file either, nor do I load up my listings with templates.
And yes, it is customizable. Otherwise all the front pages of the sites using it would look the same.
Contact the sites owners that use phpprobid and see what they would charge. You can contact most thru admin email. Or ask who they used. Make sure that the site owner is also a person who knows phpprobid.
And a word of warning... several of the sites have just completed a massive upgrade and are still working out some bugs so they might be a bit testy! |

I see. Thank you for the info and advice. I really appreciate it.
Anyone here have any experience or advice about R Scripts?

Doug, unless you are going to open an auction site... why not use one of the other shopping carts?
I know they are customizable also. |

I am opening an auction site, its just that its going to be private and only accessable by my members of the message board.
I like Rscript because it looks and acts so much like Ebay, but I am curious as to if I could ever get someone to code it to integrate with Vbulletin or not, or how customizable it is as far as themes and templates are concerned.
I seriously have my mind made up on either PHP PRO BID or RSCRIPTS.
Is there anything about either one that I should strongly avoid? or are they both good, or which one is better and way?
Thanks

Hi Doug
My site uses Php Pro script. Just so you know once you have purchased the Php Pro script. There is a private forum available for you , this forum is packed FULL of support, information, some added tweaks or as they are called Mods. Some of these are free some of them are purchased. The mods are provided by 3rd party mod developers.
There are several on the board that do offer what is called Skins or in your case a custom theme. On the forum is where I got the current design I have on my site.
But until you have purchased the script you can not access the forum to inquire further on this information. But I can tell you it is a great forum packed full of help! All upgrades to the Php Pro script are FREE also you don't pay when they release upgrades!
Hope this helps,
Suzanne |
