"Well Good Grief.....What is wrong with these eBay sellers?
Yahoo is free. No listing fees. No final value fees. Yahoo has a bulk loader.
Your listings actually show up in the search. Your listings also show up in
Yahoo's shopping search. Yahoo has more traffic than eBay stores.
But eBay sellers want to pay $15.95 month store fees. 5 cent listing fees.
10% final value fees. And for all these fees eBay buries their store items
on the back end of eBay and they don't even show up in the search.
Sellers could have it all and not even a small percentage of eBay's store sellers
can grasp the concept of listing and selling for free on Yahoo and keeping all their profits."

"Sellers could have it all, and with so many working so hard to make minimum
wage on eBay, they don't even get it. As simple as taking a day to move their listings
to Yahoo and eBay would be slashing their fees and bending over backwards
trying to get them back. All that potential. What a waste. "

I'm moving my records over that way. I'm listing them in groups of 8 to 10 by artist and will list them on Yahoo along with some craft books, cook books and buttons.
It makes more sense to list those there than on Ebay. My postcards will continue on Ebay for now though. |

It's somewhat rare for the typical eBay seller to actually DO something.
You are in a small minority.
I realize in many cases, sellers have immediate financial needs, but
judging from the completed auctions I seriously doubt the majority
of sellers a making more than minimum wage for their time (at best).
Reading the pathetic pleading on eBays message boards I wonder
if any of these people are even capable of understanding what
an incredible event it would be if they simply turned their backs
on eBay and moved their listings to Yahoo.
At this point it should be a "no brainer" and is well within their reach.
It would send eBay reeling. And improve the situation for online sellers
for years to come.
Instead of meek lambs, struggling for their survivial on eBay,
sellers would be saying, "YES, WE DID THAT". |

beckem,
I'm sorry to tell you this, but I DID do it over a year ago. I have had a grand total of 1 sale and 1 NPB in well over a year.
Yahoo may have more TOTAL visits than eBay, but only a fraction of those actually look at the auctions.
CS is as bad if not worse than at eBay.
Glitches are about as bad as at eBay.
And often their search is as broke as at eBay. Most times when I search for my items, they DO NOT show up on Y shopping tho plenty of non auction sites that sell the same things do.
So the Y site is just about the same as E just without the cost and without the sales.
Yes I know a few people here ARE doing well on Y, but it's very few.
But I do think E sellers need to go somewhere else other than just staying there and taking it.
Where is different for everyone, or better yet spread out and list on several sites. And especially get your own site. In the end, your own site is the most satisfying, when you can say you did IT your way.

Agreed, Carol...
I've been working on my websites for days now... And already had some askers, Yippee...
I am also listing on several sites: so far HiBidder, dealgates and bid-alot... Have stores at eCrater and Bidville and am researching a few others...
And yes, the CS at Yahoo is practically non-existant, although it is free, so what can you do? I've never sold on Yahoo, but have heard the NPB ratio is really high...
Ah, another site that has broken search? What is wrong with these places? |

Agree with Carol.
Tried yahoo for months with no sales. I know they've worked some of the bugs out of their system and reworked their home page but as damaradeaella stated, a lot of yahoo's traffic isn't going towards auctions. I do know a couple of successful sellers over there but they sell .99 stuff and brought most of their loyal buyers from other alternative auction sites. Of course they've also complainted about the CS and many site quirks.
Perhaps one day yahoo will spend more $$ on the auction side of their site and less on marketing their IM, email and other related services. |

I can't sell on Yahoo. I was one of the people that got caught in their "verification glitch". I've emailed cs numerous times. I got one response saying they had manually verified me, however, the site still says I'm not verified.
I'm sure there are many more ebay sellers that have experienced the same problem. |

Good Morning to everyone.

I think everyone knows what an incredible event it would be. However, I also understand that most people can't just pick up and move without some kind of income. Hard to do without.
I also think there are a lot of users that could do just that ( pick up and move ).
Being a business owner I can tell you if 1/3 of my employess quit I would be a little upset. If 1/2 of them quit I would panic and start listening.
The problem is ( as i see it ) is that there are more and more auction sites popping up everyday. More and More bitching about e-bay and other sites, which keeps sellers and buyers in total disarray. And I know people are always going to have opinions.
But either get off e-bay and bring them to their knees or list your items and suck it up. You can't do both ( as many are doing )
Most of the users on this site have left e-bay and understand what it takes to fix e-bay. I just wish the others would do the same.
I don't sell on e-bay or any other auction site at this time. I do search e-bay and others for items My family wants and If we find it on e-bay we e-mail the seller and ask them if they sell anywhere else, If so we buy it at the other site and if not we buy from someone else.
Anyway, ( enough rambling by me ) I'm not even sure if any of this makes any sense. One thing I do know, I need more Coffee.......
11:30 am and I need to get going.
Everyone have a great day!!!

I am listing on Yahoo and building an ecrater store along with my own website.
I think diversification is our only hope. Ebay has proven that even great things will eventually come to an end and no one should be dependent on only one alternative. (IMO) |

| I should add that I would have a PSU site, but I'm one of those sellers with 10s of thousands of items. |
