When listing last week I tried the sell your item form...(I usually use a thrid party) and when I hit continue...the next page had just about everything checked off for me..bold...highlight..featured etc....this was notice after I listed an auction with a gallery featured item checked for me at 19.95...(a 5.00 item too)...I went to live chat they suggested it was a saved template of mine..I explained i dont normally use the form (no saved templates) however....i immediately cancelled that auction...so I am not getting anything for my money all 21.00 of it,.....and now getting canned responses as to how it is like a NEWSPAPER....and charges remain... anyone else have this happen to them? the sell your item form .. "already checked" options after hitting continue ... seen this happen?.
also...ebay does not refund when options are added or removed for example I added a reserve 2.00 then took it off 5mins later...the 2.00 charge remains...no adjustment.
Use to be when things were added or removed invoice was adjusted.
No more. They compare it to newspaper advertising in their canned responses but ...in a newspaper advertisement if it was wrong...it would be adjusted and corrected and refund given if appropriate which is called fair business practices...what the bay is doing is "unfair business precises". 3 times this year i have been overbilled. anyone else had billing issues? as I am looking to do something about this...
FTC?..BBB?..a lawyer?...help appreciated! |

I know for a fact once you click on an option at most any auction site and then click continue, you'll be charged for that enhancement.
As for templates, I too do not sue them because many of my items are totally different from others I carry. Somewhere on ebay you have a sellers preference area where you can set up some sort of pre-set shipping polices, buyer policies, etc....
I'd check into that before calling a lawyer |

only time i used sell the sell form. previously..was to use propack..which would explain that particular incident of the 5.00 item getting listed...as I rarely use never noticed the charge form unfamiliar after using 3rd party.... but.....afterwards when i went to sell your item form again to try and figure out what happened.and why..by starting another from sell your item form ....hit continue...and saw HOME PAGE FEATURED checked at 99.99 (which I have never used) show up ?...
...still...i have issues with them "forfeiting" all listing costs when they shut down all my auctions and forfeited the money. All 700 of it. which was done 1 day after (not before) the "forfeiture" notice was posted in their new policies.. which was to be reserved for "repeat offenders" i was adamantly NOT a repeat offender. It was just done...first in telephone call to me then first email they said"listing costs would be refunded" then changed their mind obviously...as second email said "forfeited"...:"unfair business practises"...they do what they want and change the rules when they want |
