|
|
eBay told users that as of November 1st, it would stop supporting old and uncommon browsers when it develops new features. Members using certain outdated versions of browsers, or browsers with very low adoption rates, may experience site issues or errors as it introduces new features or makes other site changes, eBay warned.
eBay said by supporting old browsers, it has spent a significant amount of development resources to support a very small fraction of users and was limited in the types of features and enhancements it could deliver.
In the next few days, eBay will start providing education and on-site help when members sign in with browsers that will not be supported in the future.

You know some companies when they roll out new features & enhancements, their members are thrilled, excited and ready to start using them.
When ebay rolls out an exciting new feature, the health industry starts to see more co-pays. stress related. high blood pressure, ulcers, dentists fixing those cracked, ground down teeth!
How many people grab their Blood pressure kits when they see those important messages from Bill Cobb.
ONLY ON EBAY CAN YOU GET AN ULCER IN 3 MONTHS

It wouldn't surprise me if their definition of "uncommon browser" would be "any browser not called Explorer"...
Btw Firefox 2.0 is out!
