i'm not going fer any more of their listing incentives. all it means is that a lot more stuff will be listed; & i've come to the conclusion that the increased competition outweighs the savings.

| I totally agree. The last two times E :twisted: bay did a listing incentive I bought in and listed 50 some items. Not one sold! Won't do that again! :oops: |

I agree with you NoPayPal.
There is Not going to be More Buyers during this time. If you have increased Number of Items listed from Sellers, Sellers Sell Through Rate (STR). is going to Decrease (typical Supply and Demand theory).
But having said this, I think if you had a few items that you Know Will Sell and especially if they are higher cost ones then maybe it is a good Idea to post a few...

| i list everyday so for me I just get my usual stuff on sale... no biggie for me... as expensive as they are though they should these things more often.. to have them when things are slow or after a fee hike is a slap in the face.. they can keep their f-in specials for all i care.. |

| Its obvious they're manipulating the numbers again. This time they're so greedy they upped the day to 20 cents instead of 10 cents! Gotta keep that money train chugging into china! |

Well this Cat did manage to get about 18 items listed/relisted at the ebay late last night just before the deadline :twisted: Saved me some serious $$$ and alerted several local ebay sellers to this HUGE :roll: savings offered by the greedy giant online auction site.
Sold 2 items in the last 18hrs and have a lot of lookers asking stupid questions. Better than what I've done at most of the alternatives over the past few weeks :(
Not sure what it takes to get sales at the alternative online auction sites but ebay is working for ME so far this Fall and I'm easily covering my expenses to date. :shock:
Now don't skin this Cat. I know we're here because ebay is so evil and overcharges their sellers to list their items. But if something is working in moving merchandise at a quick pace and making myself some $$?
I'm biting the bullet right now and bringing in $$ to my home to feed myself and so far, the alternative online auction sites aren't doing that for me!
Now go ahead and skin this Cat and let me know how much $$ you're bringing in from some of the alternative online selling venues. Don't tell me about the .01 items! Tell me of the vintage antiques, high quality home decor and other related items your moving on a weekly basis please.

| Cat - I'd be the last one to skin you :-) I've already stated I still list on Ebay although I now list on other venues as well. I believe in supporting other venues else we'll never get out from under the greedy giant....but I also know its going to be a long long time before any one of them is a serious contender. I am hoping against hope that if we keep on supporting other venues Ebay will eventually want us back full time (greedy as they are). |
