I mean in 01 it was wonderful, (02 -it was great) (03 - good) (04- fair) (05 -poor) and 06  I means sales and customers have declined, poor service, people come up with new ways to scam you out of your 15cent. :x
I mean you can't sell items for the same amount you sold em for 3 yrs ago. I thought a company was supposed to get better with time, or is that wine with age  (that was a joke) I think I can figure most of it out, I was just wondering....? |

| Now, if they would just crash and burn, I could throw a big farewell to fee-bay party! It would be bigger than Mardi Gras. We could dance in the streets! I know, I know, I'm just dreaming! |

Yesterday was a perfect example of ebay stupidity…20c listing that pushed ebay listings over 19 million at one point (On a Thursday????? At the end of the Month)…and I guarantee sales were no where near in % wise so the regular daily lister got screwed…as they had ridicules competition and almost certain final values were lower than on non-promo days…again showing quite clear that ebay does not give a dam about sellers as only the buyers yesterday got the deals …and sales will take days to get back to normal again
March is the month to watch as ebay will have to do some very creative marketing
3 predictions for the New Year
1) ebay will scrap listing fees
2) ebay management will have massive infighting after a Class action court case.. relating to copyright..Meg Feemor will be moving on :D
3) Paypal will take over from Ebay as the money earner
(One can Dream….but for sure 06 is going to be one of ebays last better years..)
 |

I totally agree, I have been listing like crazy thinking the more I have on the more I will sell. NOT!!! Ebay sales are way down. I can't even sell items at my lowest possible price. I like your ecrater store. I also am setting on up I don't have alot of items listed yet but working on it. Have you had any luck with sales there yet. How are you promoting your ecrater store? Thanks Dawn |

Hi Dawn, I love your store too, it is so handsome! :D ecrater is OK, I've gotten a few sales. Now that the season is here, I am going to bump up the advertisement.
Usually, with ebay, I create an invoice, not from ebay, but once I receive an email saying something has sold, I automatically generate an outgoing message, using my pop mail server account (mail account) Stating that I appreciate the business w/all the payment details and add a link (to my store) on that invoice stating, I have bargain and clearance items in my store and give 1 buck off ship. 8) I'll get lookers and even some sales, then I combine ship w/their ebay Item and all is good! Totally legal! On ebay's invoice (from ebay's site) to buyers you cannot use html and you cannot add links. *advertisement on my own invoice* I also include on my ebay auction page that I have a *store* and I only list items for auction from time to time. - Then, if they catch on, they see I don't have a store on ebay, they ask me about my store and and if I've got similiar items to the ones I am selling on ebay- THEN, via regular email I send them the link. 8) Also ecrater has links to promote your site via google, msn and a few others. Hope that helps |

So true NPP! Everytime the USPS or whomever raises their shipping fees, my sales BOMB! It appears that since the last USPS fee hike my sales have not recovered all that well :(
A seller is offering a discounted item at say .99 and it cost $4.05 to ship via priority mail? Grrrrrrr :x
As stated in this and other related threads, ebay only lowers it's listing fees to bring in more listed items, which looks good on paper and to their stockholders.
STR is a major factor to sellers and I'll be curious to learn if this bump in listed items results in more sales. Just because you got billions of items listed, doesn't mean you got billions of sales happening IMHO. |

I agree - with ebay fee increases and then PO fee increases possibly coming at the same time - sales will probably coninue to tank in Q1 of '07. For an unknown reason, my best sales on Yahoo in 06 were in Jan-Apr!!!
Perhaps those with money as gifts thru the holidays shopped - dunno, but was pleasantly surprised!! :D :D
I've had 2 sales on eCrater only. My inventory is limited there but I've been there since I heard about it here! |

Give tazbar.com a try for 3 reasons...
a) it's not a silly little website that sinks with 100 lisitngs
b) the directors listen to surgestions and fix any faults
c) listing is free.....final values are low and simple....and sales are good
d) adverts starting in the uk soon..... NOVEMBER 13th
e) fakes are iradicated almost instantly after listing....
f) listings are over 35,000!
so it's the time to get on to Taz say fairwell to ebay.... (and low sales + high fees...that = less profit) and say hello to Taz (high sells + low fees + that = more profit)
Tazbar.com - are you doing it? |

I totally agree with you. It seems as if ASP continues to decline while the fees continue to grow. Buyers now expect to pay below retail all the time so bids aren't as high as they used to be. It's not a sellers market anymore it's a buyers that is if they can avoid all the scams out there. |

| The Tazbar site has now over 42,000 listings its growing at a phenomonal rate and the sales are good too for a new site. I think this one is going to give all the others including Greedbay a big kick up the you know where. |
