Hi all,

I have opened a store at Ecrater and absolutely love it! It is a very nice set up. If you have questions, someone answers quickly. It is very easy to use and free. You may want to check it out.

Couldn't agree more that it is easy to use and they do a bang up job of promoting the site.

Have only had one inquiry since opening Dec. 2005 however and no sales.

The forum is a friendly one with very knowledgeable folks.

I like the way they put all in one place the "Promote Your Store" information to submit your site.

I also like the way they have step by step instructions to set up your store shown in "Community" - "Store Set Up - please read this before you ask questions". It makes it easier to open a store. Then if you have questions, someone answers right away.

You are right. They tell you how to promote your store which is a tremendous help.

I opened my eC store on 10/13/06... have had 1 sale so far. I think eCRATER has a very good feel to it. I closed my feebaY store... same store name as on eC. I just use feebaY now for auctions to help drive customers over via my "me" page. I put my store name "TCH Gifts & Things" right on my auction page but it's not a link and I don't mention the eC site. I say see my "me" page for more information about us and the items we sell and that's where I link them to eC. I don't expect to make much money this season but at least feebaY is not eating my lunch. The eC numbers are steady growing, we just have to give it time. Good luck to all on eC... Tom

I closed my Ebay Store back in August - Paypal gets enough of the profit for my liking!

I've been fighting the urge to post some ticklers there to drive traffic - how exactly do you do it without getting the feebay police on your case?

My old profile there gives a statement of why I'm leaving and suggests I can be found elsewhere without stating where.

THC - sent your red hat charm to some friend I was vacationing with in WMBG last week looking for red hat items.

Hey all - my understanding is that you are allowed to post your website on your about me page if it doesn't direct to 'other sales channels'. So - on my ebaY listings, I suggest I do combine shipping - see my about me for more details.

On my about me page, I suggest they go to my site to understand the offer and find me on other venues. On my site, I have my other venues!!

Make sense? Been this way since 2/05 and no issues at all. I only list on ebaY to draw traffic!! :D :D

Hek, I signed up for ecrater the other day but haven't confirmed my account yet

How are sales over there?

Like last year, I was on so many different alternative online selling venues, I lost track of what was selling and where. Most weren't worth my time IMHO!

Looks like some are selling there. I've been there 3 months without a sale.

Sorry to hear that joflora! :(
Hek I've been a a few alternative sites who've generated 1-2 sales in a year

Question!
I set up a Cat store, was going to add a "new product" and filled out all fields, or so I thought.
When clicking "submit" it keeps telling me to complete all fields, but not which one's
The only field not able to fill in is "local catagory".

Thanks for your help!

I remember going thru that too. Seems that the local category is the one needed. IF I remember correctly I just deleted the whole thing and started over with another listing and it went ok the second time.

Good luck! Hope you sell a ton!

Jo

I have been on EC for several months. I am encouraged with the increase in the listings, that should be good for all sellers. Read the forums to learn about their policies and for help in promoting the store. Other than the froogle uploads, the store promotion is up to the sellers to do.
