Now you can email your invoices to your buyers thru Google Checkout!

Does anyone else think this is HUGE???? If we can use this without many problems, we can do away with merchant accounts, paypal and shopping carts!

I signed up for Google checkout some time ago. It's all thru google and doesn't require a merchant account. I have a separate merchant account elsewhere.
No it doesn't work with ebay. Ebay won't allow it. Not a darn thing can they do about a note in every listing saying "Wait for the invoice" and that you will take cc. At least that isn't against the rules as of this moment.

I clicked on thru and it looks to me like I can send an invoice right this minute to anyone.
Google Checkout upper left hand corner with my name, address phone and email in the upper right hand corner.
Then email recipient, place for a message, payment of then a spot to fill in, then description of what the widget is to fill in.
Below that it says send invoice email.

I think the reference to the Checkout merchant account means you actually have to be signed up to use Google Checkout.

Wow !
I think that is very interesting , to be able to send invoices and to not have merchant account.
Has anyone else figured out that may not need a merchant account with google checkout? That would be interesting indeed !
Just have to wait for inevitable Canadian release of Googlecheckout 8) |

Wow, that is just what we have been talking about GC needing in another thread. This will make it so much easier now.
If it works like you are saying, PP is going to feel it.
I'm offering to wave my added S&H fee on more than 1 pack of seeds on Bid-alot or HiBidder already, to see how to make GC work. This will make it that much easier.
Anyone want to get your tomato or peppers seeds early to see how GC works ??!!

In that same area where you will create an invoice, you can also create discount coupons. I'm not sure just how they would work, but that's another option to offer repeat customers.
Looks like Google has been listening to us after all !!!

| Carol, maybe post that at the B-A boards. Not all the members come to PSU. Not all even read the boards either. |

OMG, this is huge! I'm going to put together a GC coupon that offers a discount to customers to use GC, and add it to my monthly newsletter....COOL!!
lammer, I sure hope they get GC rolled out for international shoppers/sellers, but think of it this way: we (US) sellers and buyers are the gunea pigs (sp??), so once you guys have the option to use GC, it'll be in fine shape, with hopefully most of the glitches worked out!
Carol, I am going to definitely buy my seeds from you through GC, hopefully by this coming weekend (will they keep ok during the winter months, which are just around the corner?) I wanted to THANK you for the shipment, which I received. My son LOVED the hot sauce sample, will be grabbing some other of your great things, too. I have yet to try the other package, haven't had time to read up, but tomorrow is relax day, will do that. THANK you again! |

I suspect the huge sellers will continue to want automation but for the little sellers like me, this is gonna be huge! And there are a LOT of us.

This will ultimately be the Paypal-killer and will surpass even moneybookers!
Hopefully, GC allows international p2p transactions and withdrawals to international bank accounts!
If moneybookers can do it, so can GC! They've got the muscle and the network and the geniuses!
cheers! |

This is very good news folks...I've signed up but didn't get all the way thru - felt I'd better wait until I had more time!
As far as 'automation' of invoicing, anyone that leaves ebaY and desires combining invoicing has some 'manual element' as PP stinks for combining shipping and getting the discounts right! I dunno about shopping carts and I am hopeful they work better, but all alternative sites I've been on either don't have invoicing at all or it doesn't work very well at all!!
I'm willing to offer another alternative for sure!! :D :D |

Eleganza I just hope they don't wait too soon
diesel , yes I think it will leapfrog over Moneybookers ,but bookers will likely remain as a healthy niche due to online gambling and its Euro service.
What I welcome is that Google Checkout could be the Paypal rival , so we the seller can have options !
I use Paypal but disappointed
I wonder if Googlecheckout will have better international currency conversion , we international sellers could save 2.5% right there ! |
