There is a Google Base Store Connector tool which can be used to get items onto Google Base if you have a store on Ebay, Yahoo, or Amazon.

Is there any similar tool that can be used to get items from our Ecrater store to appear on Google Base?

Thanks!

Ecrater already feeds to Google and from what I have been able to see, does it very well. My stuff showed up in Google within a few days of listing it.

Hi Joflora, do you mean Google search or GoogleBase? I thought they were two different things. But I haven't actually tried to find my items on the Base...maybe i should do that :)

As far as I know, they go into the regular Google searches. And as I understand it, base and regular Google are different. I think more people know about the regular google searches than base.

Maybe someone will come along with more or better information.

I'm not sure if eCrater auto-feeds to GoogleBase/Froogle or not. If not, you could set up you own account at GB.

If you have relatively small number of items at your store you can list them 1 by 1 at GB (ugh) with a link to each auction listing. Better yet, if you can find a tool that can build the GB feed file then you can FTP it to GB (preferred).

GB likes to see a refreshed upload file at least every other day and they require a buy it now price on each item.

Hope this helps. All the best. :)

Hi,I'm not good at any of this stuff but go log into ecrater and click on promote your store on the left side of the page. The next page will show you places you can submit your URL's such as google,MSN,Yahoo. I don't know if this helps but I do it once a week. They already submit your items to froogle. I hope this helps you. E-You,Later!

Hi Turquoisestar...I only have about 65 items, but didn't really want to do them 1 by 1.

I used a file converter tool when i had an ebay store. That's the sort of thing I was hoping to find to use to transfer from ecrater to GB.

Thanks, 2ndhandrosefrommo...I think i did that once, but i'll go look at it again. Didn't realize you had to keep resubmitting....but you're probably correct.

Yes, IMHO 65 items would be very laborious to post 1 by 1 as well as to maintain (ugh). Another poster mentioned the EC already feeds to GB/Froogle?

How long has it been since you posted your items at EC? It can take around 24 hours from the time BG gets the uploaded feed to the time they actually appear at GB/Froogle.

Do you have a "buy it now" price on all of your items?

I don't know if I am correct about any of this stuff. The only place I have been able to sell is on ebay and I hate it. I have only sold 1 item off blujay in almost 2 years of trying the other sites and I'm on 5 of them right now and have tried a bunch of the others. I don't understand because I just did a froogle search on depression glass and at least 1 of my items shows up on most of the pages. I guess you just have to keep plugging away at it. E-You,Later!

I worked on getting my products in Google Base by send a bulk upload. It is hard work.

See the discussion under Google Base and if I can help PM me.

cuteasabug,

I agree, it's usually not a simple task to get GB/Froogle uploads going smoothly, but the results can be rewarding.

IMHO it's far easier for one to sell at an auction site that already does auto GB/Froogle feeds. If they also feed to BidFind and BidHopper, all the better.

My experience exactly. I am beginning to wonder why I even go to the trouble to list anymore. I am not even getting lookers on iOffer anymore-----almost none. I did get lookers at first.

When I do searches on Google, my old eBay listings pop up right away, right at the top of the list. Sometimes an iOffer comes up. An eCrater rarely comes up-----perhaps if I put in exact phrases and my store name.

The only sales I'm making are on Half.com.

I think buyers have given the st. elsewheres a try but have been put off by the lack of inventory. I try to buy on the st. elsewheres, as I no longer will buy at all on eBay, but they have only had what I wanted one time. And even then there was no choice, just one seller.

 I think I'm spinning my wheels.

Hi, thanks to everyone for your great responses!

I just did a search for one of my items on google base, and it's there....actually 2...one from Blujay and one from ecrater. The one from Blujay posted to GB yesterday, and the one from ecrater posted to GB today....even though both items have been listed in both places for about 2 weeks. So it looks like GB is a little sloowww in getting things indexed.

Also another thing I noticed is that all of the items listed on ebay (posted through adfarm?) are listed ahead of any other submitter. :(

According to info on the ecrater site, ecrater feeds to Froogle and everything fed to Froogle is supposed to automatically be sent to GBase, so we're not supposed to have to submit our items to the Base ourselves.

And to zeldafitzg: I have made a few sales at Blujay and ecrater and iOffer, but no more than 1 every month or two...not really enough traffic to substain a business. As bad as sales have become on ebay, unfortunately, it does seem like that's still the only place with traffic.
