SAN FRANCISCO: Shares of eBay Inc traded down as much as 6 per cent overnight amid nagging concerns that its growth prospects will disappoint investors when it reports quarterly results next week.

Makes me happy too. Hey ebay I know what would increase your
"transaction revenue growth rate". LOWER YOUR FEES AND QUIT TINKERING WITH THE SITE.
Do a Wal-Mart thing. Roll Back baby Roll Back... |

| Lower prices equals more sales. We learned that the hard way. Provided that the profit is the same, but as long as the customer is satisfied then you will have repeat business. I think Ebay missed that point. Whats funny is Meg thinks that just because she has war paint on her face that we will all sit up and cheer the higher prices. 1 ant cant make a difference. 1 ant hill can carry off a small baby. Its going to be a rough few months for ebay. As sales decline the end of the quarter is fast closing in. Investors are going to pull out when quarterly earnings drop way below expectations. I am just waiting for that day. |

I'll buy the house a round of drinks on that day. I hope they through Meg and her team out on there a$$es and then file lawsuits against them for screwing up one of the best stocks ever
produced by such a young company. :P |

They seemed to have weathered the first quarter in spite of loss of traffic. Apparently PayPal saved the day in their revenue and earnings.
More pressure will be added (with the additional share authorization) to keep the shares P/e ratio at current levels. Usually when companies do that they either do a forward stock split or just issue news shares for further capital raising. In the not too distant future,a further price increase, or revamping their business model could be in the works in order to sustain that. STranger things have happened to companies when they get this size. Looks like the auction format is in the drivers seat for ecommerce, which I think will benefit all auction sites.
