|

This is my first post to PSU and I wish it could be under better circumstances.
I hope someone can help! I've had an ecrater store for about a month and on Nov. 29 I had my first sale. The problem is that I didn't receive any notification form Ecrater that there had been a sale. Nor did Google Checkout notify me that there had been a sale. I have preferences set on both to notify me, but apparently they didn't. I didn't catch the sale until tonight, and then only by accident, as I went in to GC to send an invoice to a different buyer.
Has anyone else had similar problems with either Ecrater or GC? I'm freaking out a bit, because I normally have very high customer service and I feel awful that this slipped past me. I apologized profusely and offered the buyer a partial refund on this purchase, plus insurance paid at my expense, as well as a coupon for a discount off of a future purchase.
Am I missing something? Is there a box I didn't check, or is this normal? I'm thinking that if I can't get notifications, Ecrater may not be a venue I want to sell on and GC may not be a service I want to use. Any guidance or insight anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I always check orders via the log-in (where you add & edit listings) and (on the left side margin) click "orders". Your orders will appear there. Also, a neat feature is to also click products and click hits for the numerical rankings of your products being looked at.
I sell elsewhere and another site generates an e-mail indicating a sale...but I never solely depend on them sending the emails. Since I'm the shopkeeper, I feel it's my responsibility to check each individual site I'm selling on...and don't just check e-mails.
So, you made a little mistake. Learn from it and move on.

1. login http://checkout.google.com/sell
2. Setting - Preferences
3. make sure "Email me each time I receive an order, cancellation or other transaction" is checked |

I have been there approx. 5 months and have had 5 sales. I received my email notices just fine from eCrater and Paypal when sales were made.
My guess is your sale emails ended up in junk mail some where along the line.
I am also signed up for Google payments, but no one has used it yet.
If you havent already you might want to contact eCrater admin. or post on their forum/message board.
I agree with the other poster that you need to sign on eCrater and check items sold.
Good Luck - Any sale on eCrater is one less fee you have to pay on other sites
