J&R, New York City's giant electronics retailer, posted a note on its Web site this week saying it had run into problems processing orders with Google Checkout, as the blogosphere began to fill up with posts from people wondering what had happened to their orders.
As part of a massive holiday promotion, Google offered a $10 discount to people who bought $30 worth of stuff at JR.com using its new payment-processing service.
``Due to the popularity of this promotion, we are currently experiencing extensive delays in processing Google Checkout,'' the site said. ``J&R and Google are working around the clock to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.''
Google has been struggling with the service since it launched in June. What's going on? Google declined to provide further details.
Scott Miranda, a spokesman for J&R Music and Computer World, said the store had encountered ``unanticipated integration issues.''
