Positive thinking makes for sales,
Plugging to help get those sales, makes it happen.

I plugged, I promoted, I did everything I was supposed to Joan, and yes, I had sales. Unfortunately, just as before, my sales were interrupted by an email campaign to BVCS stating that I'd been abusive on the boards. It's funny that they can't produce one sentence to back up my suspension. BV is run the way it's always been run.. Lazy management basing decisions on people who have the mindset that BV belongs to them. Did you write to them about me too, Joan?
Let me ask you something... why didn't you participate in the seller sponsored sales? Don't you support all things positive for BV? I was harassed by your friends before, during and after that sale. They are and have been single-handedly running new members away from BV. You've got some really nice friends Joan.. NOT! |

I only have participated in Bidville sponsored sales, which seem to be nil anymore...
Don't like the seller sponsored ones, just because I don't.
I find sales for me are fine because I work at it on my own plugging my wares.
No I don't run to Cs complaining about members.
Which friends are you referring to, I have lots of friends at Bidville.
Bidville works for me cause I work hard to make it work...

| If uBid wants the current Sellers to hang around while they beef up the selection, they should offer some incentive instead of nickle and diming people for Gallery and such. |

It's free to list, if you want a gallery picture to show it costs,10cents.........
But you still can load all your pictures with no cost and just not have gallery.
Only thing you pay for is closing fee.
I personally like having a featured store, this way I can list, in store get gallery there free, and if I want gallery in auctions can have that using my inhancement fees, from referrals.
I pay NO closing fees,in store or auctions, so hence the cost of the store featured, makes it a winner all the way for me in costs...
It's a win win for me. |

Offering to give free Gallery pictures seems like a reasonable suggestion to persuade existing sellers not to jump ship while listing volume increases.
Ubid apparently wants to increase selection for potential buyers before luring them to Bidville where many will be disappointed by what they find in many categories. |

Hi PJR
They could also decrease or eliminate the Gallery fee's when a Seller lists more than fifty auctions. It would serve as an incentive for Sellers to list more. Some Sellers have hundreds of auctions and Gallery is a good tool to increase sales.
Banner ads don't cost that much and so far that's the only kind of advertising BV has seen. I suppose all of the fee's combined serves to pay the staff, but that certainly is not a benefit to BV Sellers when there have been no announcements for months on end, and Sellers are complaining that their emails go unanswered.
In the beginning uBid had a banner ad for BV at their uBid site. They removed it around the time the Cafe reopened. I guess they let the few whiney babies convince them that the Cafe is more important to them than sales. The sad part is, those who cried the loudest didn't even buy or sell at BV! |

I'm glad you're doing well, Joan. But a lot of folks are talking about how bad it has gotten at BV the past few months, and I agree with them.
I only have a few remaining auctions there that I just haven't moved. But I hate to see folks hanging on there, paying those ten cent gallery fees over and over, in hopes of selling something for a dollar or so. It doesn't take many gallery fees to eat up that profit, before you even add the FVF!
I don't understand why they continue to hang on, waiting for things to get better, when there are more profitable and busy places to sell. Loyalty is nice-but would you keep your B&M store open if the owners of the building refused to take care of the upkeep on it? Would you continue to rent a booth in an antique mall that doesn't advertise, or expects you to fix a leak in the roof if it's over your booth?
People sell in antique malls because all they have to do is keep up their booth and pay the rent...owners take care of the advertising, maintenance of the building, and even being the cashiers and 'baggers' when someone buys something. BV is not doing their part, and I see no reason to pay them for doing nothing. |

Joan is an exception to the rule at BV... If everyone was doing everything she does to get sales BV would never do anything, and they may not anyway. They certainly aren't going to step up their game when it's not expected of them.
Some at BV have judged me (hi Tails) for posting my opinion regarding uBid/BV. I believe it is UNFAIR to BV Sellers when they only get one side of the story. BV has some good points, they just aren't used to BVs advantage. BV also has some bad points such as the lack of reliable Customer Service Reps. For instance, what kind of idiot (hi Angela) would be so behind answering customer emails only to open and answer the newest ones first? No wonder BVCS is so inefficient. That's not even logical! |

I consider Bidville a VENUE as I do any place that I might list at or plug...
And to that end this VENUE works for me...
I know traffic could be better, but I work at bringing my own traffic.
The Price is right and the sales happen.
Just my opinion , |

Then, it might be more accurate to say that Joan is moving on up, because BV the venue is going nowhere fast. In fact, it's sinking due to the lack of Froogle feeds and poor management. |
