| T[b]Three questions re: Bidville, please. I know that Googlebase accepts eBay and Yahoo listings automatically; Bidville's also? Do Bidville's listings load to Google/Froogle? In general, how do you think the site is doing? I was on Wagglepop and Bidville, but just quit WP (no sales in months) in favor of listing more on BV. Thanks, Katinka (a beleagured eBay store owner) |

| It appears that BV feeds to google on a rather inconsistent basis. They said that the number of auctions in the feed was causing problems for a while. That may be the case now. I wonder if yahoo and ebay have the same problem or if it is just BV? |

| I'm not sure about the Google, Froogle question but I belive most sellers and buyers are from the US which may hurt your sales depending on what you sell. Some UK based sites you might want to try are Ebid, Tazbar and Bid a Lot. My items on Bidville don't get many hits though I have made a few sales there though. With the new management at BV we are still waiting to see what they have planned for the site, but they haven't broken out with much extra advertising so far. Their Bulk lister is one of my favorite listers out there. Good luck where ever you list and welcome to PSU. |

I done a few checks lately and have nothing show up for BidVille that I haven't fed myself through Google Base.
They were for a short time (apparently very short). Never has there been a feed to yahoo search or any of the other search engines out there.
UBid needs to get their act together and start running BidVille the way it needs to be. |

| There haven't been any announcements for months. What in the world could they possibly be doing? |

I've said it before, Ubid bought it and gave us great expectations. They fixed a few minor things and now have put it on automatic.
JMHO, They have someone that monitors the boards (ocassionally when someone starts whinning) and takes care of a legitimate beef. But I don't believe anyone is actively working on making any major improvements.
Any advertising they would do for BidVille might draw customers away from UBid, the real bread and butter for them. So other than the microscopic banners they hid here and another place. You'll see nothing.
And that would include search engine feeds. |
