Funny you should ask this at this particular time
Just this week I started listing a few items over at BV again after nearly a 6 months vacation due to poor sales and little traffic looking at my stuff.
As of today, no sales and very few page views.
I'll let em ride for a while then if things don't pick up quickly--Take another vacation :) |

| It's not you! That's just the way BV is. I keep a few listings there just for old times sake. i used to have a pretty steady business there but got tired of having to just give things away in order to make a sale. |

LOL.... it really must be deja vu time in respect to Bidville.
I was just over at their site yet again looking it over and thinking to
myself "hmmm.......I wonder.......has it gotten any better?".
I've been gearing myself up to spread my wares out over a broad
range of venues and have been trying to narrow down the list of the
sites I want to try (or try again) in this new push for 2007.
Then I snapped to sanity. I reminded myself I've already given BV
more tries over the past couple of years than I can even recall. It
never mattered how broad my list of merchandise was, how cheap I
tried to get my prices, or how I touted my listings there in trying to
promote them. The results have always been the same. Not a single
sale ever made on Bidville and the *only* contact I ever got from
anyone about merchandise were a handful of ridiculous offers from
people who wanted to see if I was so desperate to make a sale that I
would go for it.
For me, BidVille remains one of those sites that seems eternally stuck
in neutral. I had hopes that things would change after they were bought
out by Ubid, but from what I can tell that hasn't been the case.

Same for me. When I looked at my listings last week there were only 2 page views total on 120 listings. That totally sucks. Never made any sale there either in about a year of listing.

| I do Okay on bidville it is only site I list on. Average $250-350 a week in sales but I credit that by having 13,000 listings up and listing new items everyday so people know there will be something new at all times. |

I agree with all comments except the last one.
Glad you do well there.
You are the only person, however, I've heard it. |

I listen to (read) about all the other sites, look at them..have to say that Ebay and Yahoo are the only ones worth messing with.
I've said it before-the market for online auctions is pretty well established. So many small sites and even well advertised sites -Overstock for one-have failed miserably that I hate to spend the time hunting for that 'magical' place where everything will sell for a fair price, with reasonable fees.
BV has stagnated since it's inception, and still manages to hang on...why, I don't know.
I was there when BV began, and have been listening to new sellers jump in on the boards with the 'let's beat Ebay' cheer, and the 'accentuate the positive' chant, and the 'this new owner is going to make things better' mantra for all of that 6? years. It hasn't happened so far, but the few faithful keep hanging on.
Personally the only thing I can think of is that the owners are using the chat boards as fodder for a soap opera they write-lol! |

I hear you, I seem to do ok on ebay, but for starting out the fees and learning the "tricks" to the trade with them is a pain!! Just got kicked out for the 2nd 1 day suspention this month, will have to be more careful listing.
Have not tried yahoo, but looking into it!
thanks |

| I've wondered why Bidville had so few sales when it is consistently third in number of listings. A store boardie on eBay says that 2/3 of BV's listings are sportscards. If that is true, BV's listings aren't any better than the other sites. As for sales, I've had 1 in the last few months--have 200 items listed. Katinka |

| I have been there since Jan. 01. I do sell sportscards. Have sold probably about 8,000 cards in that time. So, I can only speak for myself, but I have done very well there. |
