| Hi, is ecrater down? Or having problems? Maybe it's just me. I can log in to my Admin pages on ecrater but can't get to my products page at all. The page just keeps loading loading loading. Anybody else? Thanks :? |

| Hmmm, thanks for checking yellowrose and 2ndhandrose (lots of roses there, LOL). I've been having this problem since last night. Is there any way to contact ecrater customer service/help directly? |

| If you can log into Community, you might go to the thread "Help" or something like that and usually Big Tall or someone will see it and respond right away. |

Hi yellowrose, yeah, Big Tall has helped me before. He (or she?) is great!
Got into my Admin pages and can go to every other page except my "products" page. Finally was able to get to the products page via other the other pages. But my items on the products page were GONE!!! In a panic I went directly to my ecrater store....and thank goodness my items were still there! Then amazingly when I went back to my Admin Products page, my items were back!
What a mystery. Don't know what's going on. It's obviously just me since nobody else has posted about this problem. Well, at least it's working now...fingers crossed it will keep on working...if not I'll go to the ecrater community forum as you suggested.
Thanks :) |

duckmom - just a thought!!! eCrater does use javascript, and if you have any problems again, share here and we can compare which version of java you've got. I've had no issues 'there' unless I forget to turn 'on' java (I've got it set to ask me vs. just start).
Glad to see ya back in and 'working'!! :D :D |

Erin (2boysandtoys), thanks. I'm a total computer dunce. How can I find out what version of Java I'm running? I downloaded the latest version of Java a month or so ago in order to get the USPS Click & Ship to work. But I don't know what version it is, and eCrater was working fine for me up until last night.
Things seem to be working fine now. :) Just one of those silly computer glitches I guess. |

Well....I'm not sure what Operating System you're using, but on my system (running XP), I can go to:
1. Start
2. My Computer
3. Programs
4. Java
5. then there's a 'read me' file that shared which version you're on!
Now - if you updated within the last month +, you're probably "OK", and perhaps it was just some type of isolated hiccup that's corrected itself.
There are so many things that can affect user(s) - it is very difficult to trouble shoot when my tools aren't working like they should!!
Let's assume it's fixed, and if something happens again, yell and perhaps we can help ya out! |

I have been having trouble with eCrater for the past few days. I've been crossing my fingers that a server upgrade or something is en route, or maybe just some admin stuff going on. I can't get some of eCrater to load at all at times.
WAHHHHHHH and I love eCrater!   |

| Well....no longer is it 'isolated'!! I've NEVER yet visited their forums - is there any discussion there about these issues? It truly stinks when there are varying levels of performance, I don't even know what to suggest to help you all!! :? :( |

There are only a couple of posts on the ecrater community forum about this. Most of the posts were dated from October 2006 and were under the topic header of "suspended accounts."
There were only 1 or 2 recent posts under "help", and there were no posts by ecrater Administration in the "system updates or problems" sections.
So I don't know if ecrater site is having programing or system problems, or if these problems are only isolated to a few of us.
As to our discussion about Java yesterday. I went to My Computer>programs>Java and found 3 different versions of Java on my computer. One is from 2004, one from 2005, and one from 2006.
Whenever I update Java from the Java website, why does it leave the old version on my computer? Am I supposed to be removing those older versions somehow? Do you think that having all those other versions is confusing my computer in that it doesn't know what version to use? Sorry, again, I'm really a computer dunce :( |

Hey now.....we are all here to 'learn' and the PSU word for admitted dunce is NUMPTY!!!! That's what I always say!!
More than likely, when you download and install the newest version, it over-rides the previous versions. Some program install. files do have the ability to remove the previous version completely, while others do not.
You can go to:
- Start
- Control Panel
- Add/Remove Programs (wait for it to load)
- Scan the List of Installed Programs (look for a coffee cup and J2SE --- and a version number. If the latest program is installed (I've got version 5.0 Update 6 on my system), the other two can be moved over to your recycle bin!
Speaking of eCrater - I can't get 'there' right now - am getting a Problem Loading Page Error Message - how bout others? 8) :? |
