Fortunately there are folks like us who rescue cats even knowing they can be a problem later in life!

Unfortunately, our goofball was a lonely kitty, so while she has a loving disposition she still has trust issues and fears.

Fortunately, she is sweet.

Unfortunately she has issues that have been costly... last Christmas morning this same cat announced she had a very irritating hair mat stuck to her rumpus (even though we keep her brushed and even shave her belly once a year). Guess where we were Christmas morn....at an emergency vet because we did not have the equipment to handle her and she went wild when I tried to clip it.

Fortunately she was sweet with the vets.

Unfortunately that was an unexpected $300 (just to clip a butt mat!)

Fortunately she is cute...her life saver many a time.

Unfortunately we also have to buy pheramones (sp?) that are like the glade plugins and put them around the house to keep her on a halfway even keel. Kitty hemp weed in aromatic form.

Fortunately, it has stopped her peeing on things, which I absolutely can not tolerate. Thus...she gets to live on with us.

Unfortunately...it is also costly.

Dumb cat...may be the reason I quit rescuing and start volunteering to help with feral cat colonies!!!

Fortunately, none of my other rescues have been this traumatized and we get along fine.

That is fortunate news and for once I'm serious. Had to put LUCKY to sleep because she developed that naughty and intolerable habit. She was 12. Until March, 10, 1970 when the Vet made her UN-Lucky.

Unfortunately I know zip about plug-in hemp weed. The Schatz would probably go for it in a big way. I might give it a whirl myself. Plug and play pheromones... Good grief! Think how this would sell in Hollywood. You may have hit upon a sales idea.

Any pheromone is a good pheromone and on certain days I consider rubbing my whiskers against the nearest door jamb too~

Fortunately kitty hemp is online and easy to use.

Unfortunately, it is expensive. However...less expensive than dealing with the mess the cat can leave behind!

Fortunately, our vet recommended it when we were at our wits end and I wanted to get rid of the cat. She is a bit of a nervous nelly sometimes and this stuff just chills all 3 of them out! In fact...they have become lap cats! My 10 year old nervous cat who never came down to the livingroom is now the most loving happy lap cat around and purrs constantly! And insistent each evening on sitting in my lap where she will stay for hours as I watch tv or work on the computer.

Unfortunately it did not make Stitches a lap cat, but it certainly has made her more friendly and she doesn't spray any more. We have been using it about a year now. Expensive cat.

>Expensive cat

There's a cheap one?

Thanks. I'm going to buy some and spray the room when I read the Boards over at that other place. Might help. I doubt I'll purr but ya never know. Little Miss Lightning Bolt who lies on a chair beside me might have an attitude adjustment. Which she could use.

Like chicken soup: it can't hurt.

Fortunately you do not have to spray this stuff...you just plug it in and leave it near a location she has issues with. We have 2 downstairs and one upstairs and change them once a month. She never sprayed upstairs, but we thought it couldn't hurt to put one there! And now there are no cat fights/chases at night that used to jerk me straight out of bed with my hair on end!

Unfortunately, some cats are obstinate and won't adjust their attitude just to spite you.

Fortunately all 3 of ours have calmed down and at least are civil. The two timid ones get along great, but the third one is a Garfield type and I think has been the main cause of tension in the past. She and I don't mesh well with personalities, so maybe I am biased.

Fortunately I like cats.
Unfortunately, the cat I liked best was stolen by people who lived at the end of the street that were moving away, he was a Manx, long hair, showshoe paws, and grey. His name was Bobby-Lee. I wish he would run away from those cat-thieves and come home to me.
Fortunately I have other animals.
Unfortunately I still miss my Bobby-Lee.
Come home Bobby-Lee........... Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

scanthehorizon,

Fortunately, I understand and feel badly for you.

Unfortunately, it's because a very similar thing happened to me. I had a very sweet Siamese that was too friendly for his own good and was stolen by a neighbor too.

Fortunately, I also have a flock of other cats in and out of the house (mostly out, farm cats). But I know how one special critter can steal your heart.

Carol

Unfortunately I feel your pain!

Fortunately, my very own special baby (a tabby/siamese) is an indoor girl, so I have no worries she will get stolen.

Unfortunately I am so imprinted on her she quits eating when I vacation.

Fortunately, she loves me so much she even comes when I call her name...very unusual in a house cat. Every cat seems to have its own unique personality.

Unfortunately, I have no cats at the moment, though I do have 3 dogs and 4 guinea pigs.

Fortunately, pets can help us to become better humans.

Unfortunately, humans need bettering.
