The site should add RME to it's list of things that sellers can accept!!!

I've actually tried to sign up for an account there for the past six months so I could explore that possibility. Their site won't allow me to, and numerous emails to their support team go unanswered.

So far I'm unimpressed.

I LOVE RME!!! I've had it for about a year now and receive most of my payments, and make most of my payments, through that venue!!! I LOVE not having to pay fees as either a seller or a buyer!!! I think RME is a seller's best friend for payment services!!!

I've also asked OnlineAuction.com to put it on our invoices, but I believe that because it's an actual bank, integration for an entire eCommerce venue is not a reality... on RME's part... at least not yet...

You can, however, put their 'pay me now' button on your listings. I haven't done it yet, but I know several OLA members who are doing it successfully. I know one of the members did a guide (in the chats) on how to do it, as it is a bit tricky.

Atomic Mall is set up a little differently than OLA. If I remember right, you receive a seller generated invoice that has the various available pay buttons on it? Atomic Mall has a shopping cart and automatic check out, no need for seller to send an invoice, so pay button wouldn't work there. I am surprised that so many of your sales are paid through RME, most sellers say that no one ever uses it.

Hi, is the RME option integrated automatically into the site or is it a manual function of the site where the seller has to invoice the buyer?

I think AM wants the payment methods integrated because a transaction isnt completed until payment is actually made....now on AM there is an option for money orders and checks and if the buyer checks those payment options it would be completd without the transaction ever taking place....

I suppose AM could set up RME the same way and the seller could send a manual invoice to the buyer through RME....the only reason I see AM resisting putting that option in is because the site is set up for buyers to select, check out and purchase items smoothly and quickly without waiting on any input from the seller, but like money order and check payment methods, the seller would be contacting the buyer to give additional details anyway...but as I said, AM tries to keep the process going as smooth and as quick as possible with combined shipping calculation and payment being all automated...buyers dont have as much time to lose interest....

RME, the SCAMMERS best friend.

It offers the buyer ZERO protection, should there be a problem.

I am interested in free ways to get money without giving away to much of it. RME gives me that opportunity and i don't have to give away to any 3rd party collection agent.

(orginal post perhaps came across a bit rude)

This is a FDIC insured bank account there is plenty a buyer/seller could do if need be

This concerns Atomic Mall adding it as a payment option not the thought of the type of service

There is so many websites here and other places such as plunderhere for one that allow you too accept RME as an off site payment option as well as Amazon Payments check money orders etc.

I do appreciate the compliments as i always have something honest, truthful and interesting to say. I try to not beat around the bush

I don't have time or want to be bothered with going out and trying to find traffic. Developing a site since most sites fail in a few years. I would just rather give money away for results in a FVF. I wish to spend my time bringing money in and other productive measures for expansion. Mostly what I use are not listed on here and have great results under different names thruout the web

At the some token yes I am very critical of lacking sites (traffic, loss of items etc) or post info on sites falling or if they are up to something or could be doing better.

And even in the same event I am advertising for free for most sites here trying to get them traffic and new members and some sites that i help I am not even on. Just cause i like the owners (or just think the site is cool and/or try to get you seller's sales) and they don't even know it

I was only trying to offer a solution to individual sellers who'd like to use RME on AM.

No doubt integration would be awesome, but for sites who don't/won't/can't offer RME as part of their site, sellers can add the pay me button, which pays the seller directly without an invoice having to be generated. Of course, multiple buys wouldn't combine the shipping, but that can always be refund... and since the seller isn't charged any fees, it seems like a win/win to me... IF your site doesn't integrate it (which I don't think is do-able yet for any site).

I don't remember all the details, but in spring 08, when RME was talked about more, there was someone posting here about a mod they had written specifically for RME.

He had written it mainly for his own site, but was willing to license it. I remember I had emailed him directly about it back then. I don't remember if it was for an auction platform or something for Zen-carts. I think more likely for Zen-carts.

But if there is a mod out there, more could be written for your platform.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think the problem with just putting the RME buttons in a listing is that it isn't registered as a sale and the site wouldn't get it's commission if that's how the site works.
While I'm all for no up-front fees, if I do get a sale from an alt site I'm more than willing to pay the site what I owe for the fact that it got me an order. Lack of accountable integration at a site is the problem for RME right now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The other problem with RME is that if you are a new user it isn't quick. Even when they were giving the sign-up free money, if you ordered something for more than you had in your account, it would take several days to fund your payment before you could pay.

I had several customers interested in trying RME because of the extra offers I made if they used it. But when they found out about the delay to fund the payment, they decided to just use GC or PP so they could just finish the order and be done.

In this day if instant everything, anything that delays the customer finishing the order is a chance they will change their mind and just move on.

Just some of the things I've seen with RME. Maybe some of it has changed as I haven't really had a whole lot of business thru it at all.

Carol

I use RME to collect fees for my teams (softball). I offer it for my sales, but rarely is it used/selected by customers. I love the RME concept, but it is slow as all monies have to clear from sender before payment is 'made' - to compare to ebaY, only bank transfers can be used - no CCs.

A site allowing RME or not is not a deal-breaker for me. I am all for giving options to buyers but RME is just not 'there' yet for me to push it big-time!

RME offers no outside integration - no API - No postbacks - Their doing nothing to grow their service outside the box.

One thing to keep in mind, RME has no fees at the moment.....<grin> I havent paid much attention to them lately but I bet their company line is that they will get their income from the float (interest on the money people keep in their accounts). I remember Paypal used the same ruse to hook buyers and sellers on their service and when they had become integrated with the site and it was hard to walk away...

If RME gains steam, they'll pull the same bait and switch that Paypal did and we'll be paying fees...

Most of these companies do it when they feel they have enough members relying on the site.....Vendio did it way back in the day when they were still auctionwatch......auctiva just did it....Google did some jiggling of their numbers this year.....

I got some referral money from RME when I offered free shipping to some patch buyers last year but none of them ever came back and used RME again...outside of the free shipping for referrals deal I was offering, noone ever paid me with RME.....I think most of the RME sales might be between seller to seller sales because buyers have very little interest in it.....

I still say if there is a way to integrate it on to AM without losing sales due to a buyer losing interest, then add it...but if it cant be integrated to work smoothly in the checkout process, why bother? I'd rather have fees and immediate payment to be ensured of a sale rather than risk losing a sale because of the time frame involved in waiting for a payment to clear.....
