Also it has featured categories and categories and I think it might be confusing for new folks too as they may think the only categories at the site are listed on the left hand side.

My concern is they wont know to click categories to find the rest of the seller's items

Looking on the front page(home page of plunderhere) I see no plundy or anything that should be on this site Pirates, treasure chest, Pirate ship, Plundy done all in a fun way

Good point and I've heard others bring this up in the past about the way the featured categories are listed on the home page to the left. I agree and I think most would rather see a list of all cats there rather than just a few chosen ones. I have heard others say they are concerned that some will think they are the only cats on the site. Right now in order for them to see all cats they have to click on the category button at the top.

Yes Plundy's not been on the home page in a bit maybe they could put him on there once more. He still is and always has been the site mascot.

I'm glad that some agree with me about the off-site ads on the product view pages. I will say that is one of the reasons why I pulled my items from the site (I had a PlunderHere store up until April of this year).

Also, the Plundy stuff is cute and fun. While that won't help much with generating sales, some sellers do like to have fun in the 'workplace', and it is enjoyable to have fun with things like a stuffed mascot traveling around the country. Laughing

An option to hold all the items or the store. Because is needed to end the items individually.

elpereles, that's an excellent idea if I'm understanding you correctly.

Something whereby a user can put all items on hold, and return all items to active when ready, correct? We already have global messages so maybe on the page would be a good place to a toggle all auctions button and the seller could say they are on vacation or what-not.

If so that should be an easy item to add while we discuss further the other ideas being added to the mix.

OP

Since you asked

Might wanna consider a name change.

Myself, when I was looking for a site to sell on, about 11 months ago, I did not even check out your site because of the name.

Although some may find it cute, I think most BUYERS would not.

The off-site ads won't be going anywhere, unless the sellers would prefer eBay level fees.

Those ads, often referred to as Google ads, in many cases pay the bills for the site.

I have no idea how much they are currently bringing in to PH, but Blujay used to get better than $2100 per month, which is how they managed to keep the site free.

j&gsales that will be good. Last April I need to go some weeks becuase the job and I needed to end all of then one by one. In my case were less than 20, but imagine someone with more than 100.

SlvrEglOne you said to change name.

I have some ideas originals and good.

ePlundy Wink

PlunJay Razz

PlunderBonz

AtomicPlunder

Or maybe

Plunsy Laughing

Now seriously a change of name works with a new owner appears and decided to erase the old name to avoid any relationship with the old owner. Or to forget bad things.

name changes for a established business is a bad idea.

The name is fine and nothing wrong with it. They just have to work with the theme of the name.

However silver eagle wensy is a bad name in that of itself just with the fact people may spell it wrong etc etc But it works for a certain genre of items coins and cards

Plunderhere at least you can spell it

Gooddeals

Name Changes

Sprint previously known as MCI

Verizon previously known as Eastern Bell?

Name Plunder Here. I still think buyers will be wary of it.

Wensy

I agree, as I've had to spell it out to many friends.

Wensy for coins/cards

Only beacause coins/cards/stamps were there first, and they hold the lions share of listings.

Many other genres sell, but I agree they may be overshadowed.

Forget the name change. Maybe a new mascot if they had one.

Well you are right it could be done but the thing with those examples that you gave they spent millions letting us know. Plunderhere would not have that luxury But you are right after I read your post it is not impossible. But I don't think likely to happen

What happened to Plunderhere, is it still open or did they shut down for good?
