No I have not and will not be going to any other places to sell I am sticking to blujay and ecrater thanks anyway..

and jcut92 you have way to much time on your hands Laughing yes on ecrater has the amounts that I have sold (but) in blujay and ecrater I have buyers who don't want to put items in the shopping cart they just contact me and tell me to send them a paypal invoice so there's more sales there that are not recorded.. I can go look at my note book of sales from blujay and ecrater and give you the amounts/items that sold but I am busy have other things to do Smile

keep plugging and promoting Smile

Would that mean close items and then relist? I submit to 303 search engines and I guess she is the lucky one to be selling there.....LOL

The Search engines and the promoting I am doing for BJ have left me invisible. Wonder why some are Visible and others aren't? I did shout out my window earlier today and kept saying BLUJAY, BLUJAY. But I don't think the word of mouth has gotten out yet. I am still waiting.

You are more into Internet selling than I'm.I have no idea how you could possible improve traffic to your stores anymore. You have already submitted to 303 search engines. That's app.290 more than I submitted too.
Perhaps a whole new game plan is in order????I don't know.

Yeah like I said I do my promoting for the 3 stores I have online, and I also have quite a lot of books/Dvds etc on half. But they do all my promoting for me. The buyers just come to half because they are known and have a good REP. As far as a Game plan? Not sure what I could do. Can't ROTATE my inventory on BJ as there is NO way to do this. Wink
BJ has such a BAD REP maybe people shy away from that site? Could it be?

Debsgreatfinds: I have just as much time on my hands as you do, which I believe is 24 hours each day, as god allows.

Just because I clicked into your link at EC does not mean I have TOO MUCH time, its just one click baby. Nothing to it.

The Sales Count at EC is what it is. No denying it. If you sell outside EC thats wonderful, MOST sellers do, But the Bottom line is YOU CAN'T FIB about sales at EC, its there FOR the world to see.

Now BJ theres a lot of fibbing GOING ON. Its obvious, just peak your head into the forums, EVERYDAY someone is in there complaining. AND that is BECAUSE of BJ's Rep and what they allow people to sell, Its ruined. NO owner and NO Updating. Gotta get back to work, Enjoy your beautiful Day!

This is a Blujay thread, not eCrater and not my intent to take it off-topic.

JCut92 - even though you are a seller at eCrater, you have a faulty understanding of the sales count and feedback system on that site. Please spend some time reading in the forums there to gain a better understanding. Then perhaps you can return here and correct yourself. You've just made two posts in a public forum providing faulty information regarding the recording of sales and feedback on one of the larger sites.

PK493-From my understanding that is your SALES COUNT. If it isn't you need to take that up with Dimitar From EC, because he clearly states it right underneath the price in each listing.

The Percentage of your feedback is another story, but my point in speaking of EC, since this is a BJ thread. Was that YOU CAN'T tell people HOW WELL YOUR SELLING, IF YOUR SALES COUNT AT EC had zero in it. Get my drift.

The FB Percentage is how well you have sold, so if you had say a negative, then your percentage would go down from 100%. This has been around since ebay began. Same Concept.

*Note* You can leave feedback for a Seller only if you paid thru google or paypal.

PostPosted: Thu Jul 02, 2009 7:38 am Post subject:  Re: Sales are picking up @ blujay.com! #320 Back to top

As my post-count shows, I seldom post in forums. Limited time available as full time caregiver for disabled spouse & usually working on my stores.

I stand with those making sales on BJ because I am also. I have 4 stores on BJ & 6 stores on EC. Each store has a different line of merchandise, each store and listing is SEO optimized - each store now well-indexed across the web, gaining backlinks & I'm making sales in all stores. My paid bills & bank acct is proof enough for me. I've NO time to invest in sites which don't bring sales.

Everytime someone says they're making sales at BJ, they're attacked & called a liar. It's gone on for months & I just couldn't stand it anymore. Every seller leaving ebay needs to learn how to list & market their own store wherever they set up. If you just want to list & have it sell, stay on ebay - with all that entails. Selling anywhere else takes work & a site owner isn't going to do it for you. Some time spent learning today's web marketing could be the best thing you can do for your business. Getting into Google Shopping Search is great, but getting well indexed across the web keeps you from being dependent AGAIN on just one traffic source (eggs in a basket?).

It's been noted here at PSU before by long-time sellers - every site doesn't work well for everyone if you're depending on browser traffic. The only way to know - The Proof - is to list your items.

Both BJ & EC are incredibly easy to list on. Both have some issues - every site does. So pick what works best for you & your business & let go of what's not working. But just because it may not have worked for you, for whatever reason, is no reason to assume it's not working for others.

Sales ARE happening at BJ. Was recently informed my stores there now have their own Alexa ranking - not sure how that happened since I've no toolbars at all & didn't submit to Alexa. BJ's not dead or fallen off the map.

Lack of visible sales figures or feedback doesn't prevent sales at BJ. Doesn't seem to hinder them at EC either. The COUNT only reflects certain sales & ONLY those sales are even eligible to leave feedback - it's NOT an indicator of total sales in a store - check it out yourself. Opened most recent store 7 wks ago - have had 53 sales thru EC admin & no one's left feedback - so that spot below the price still says ZERO. Didn't deter my 2 sales in that store yesterday.

Sorry for long post. Just my 2 cents.
Good luck to all, wherever you sell.

My sales count goes up each and everyday at EC, it corresponds to what I am selling. I also sell outside the website to people who buy multiple items. The number under your price is just an indicator that your selling. Your numbers should be moving up. If they stand at zero, there is a glitch somewhere for you.

We have sales on ecrater also but when they changed the feedback system it went to n/a but that means nothing so i guess there is a glitch but not really concerned about it. yes there are sales on BJ just had 3 today.

Sorry pk493 talk that story of Alexa and your Blujay Store to someone who doesn't have seen Alexa. In Alexa any page inside a host like eCrater, Blujay, etc doesn't appear in the ranks. They only appear in the section "Where people go on X.com".

Looks the links. The rank is for Blujay not the store.

http://alexa.com/siteinfo/elpereles.blujay.com

http://alexa.com/siteinfo/havesixcats.blujay.com

Your are right some sellers like to attack others, but when we talk of sales. Things are different. If you appear here making the "promo-guy" seach of "prosperity" in an eBay Alternative Site. You must show the proof. And we know that not all the sites works for everyone.

Hypothetically case
As a seller I sold one item by week in X.com for one year. Then next year nothing sales in months. Something is wrong. Is my fault or the site? Wink

SealandImports that N/A in eCrater is a problem. I saw many sellers with more sales than I without feedback. Now the only proof of their sales has disappeared.

If that were true, there wouldn't be so many sellers on the Blujay message boards complaining about the sheer lack of sales...the lack of Google exposure...and when Adam will come out of his self-imposed coma and start taking care of the site.

Deb,

I have no doubt that you are making sales, with as much time as you spend marketing your store.

But you are in the sheer minority of blujay sellers who are making any money.

Hum the only ones I see whining on the boards are the naysayers and always seems to be the same people with names we all know. And gee no stores that I can find for them...

Sales are there if you work at it. And I know I get google feeds from Blujay just by using the google alerts to see..
The site works well for the person willing to use it to their benifit.
If they want a lot of exposure I'm sure there are a ton of sites that you pay for the services and get what in return?

Just my take on a site that works well for me.

Joan - while I am very glad to hear that sales at many sellers' favorite site are picking up again, I have to let you know that I cannot find a single item from justjoansetc listed in Google Products (though there are certainly many found by Google web search).

I searched very carefully and thoroughly within both Products and Base, and the only items from site:blujay.com listed in either (both have the same number of items) come from the following sellers only:
max's hot wheels
gift place
cafs corner store
sadie bell's books
dutchmeister
dacl55

for a total of 1325 items (just now).
Code: › http://base.google.com/base/s2?q=site%3Ablujay.com+-"max's+hot+wheels"+-"gift+place"+-"cafs+corner+store"+-"sadie+bell's+books"&a_n0=products&a_y0=9&view=list&hl=en&gl=US

note the above specifics are to exclude sellers already found to see what's left. Can't make it clickable because of the '

Can you explain what you mean by 'using the google alerts to see'? (I'm a very curious person and always want to understand new things.)

Google has an alert program http://www.google.com/alerts?hl=en&gl=us
that you can set up for yourself, and put in what ever you want to be alerted by web/groups,as happens, etc.
I put in different items and find them coming up a lot.
I use the title in my listing and up it will come.
It's a very handy thing. Especially if you are looking for something and the alert will almost find it when it appears.

I actually never have searched in products or base for myself.
I just plug myself in lots of different ways...
Did that explain anything for you.

Ah... those Google Alerts. Yes, they are pretty cool. So that lets you know that Google sees your stuff well. Based on the alerts they send me they seem to like blogs better than anything else. I'm surprised how seldom they send me anything forum related, though I only have a couple alerts set up.

Do you find them helpful for fine-tuning your marketing efforts?
