The Wizard wrote (View Post): › Well, I have been amused by the posts in this thread so far. I had an Ebay Store from January of 2000 until last year, accumulated a 100% perfect feedback score over the years by taking good care of my customers. Of course that was before EB changed their feedback system to the non-functioning garbage that now is in place.

So I shut down my store and left Ebay for greener pastures. They even called me on the phone btw, about two weeks ago to beg me to come back. Hilarious. I told them to "get your act together".

Anyway, my point is this: I see all these complaints from people who are still selling on Ebay. My response: What do you expect? Why are you still selling on Ebay? Don't you get it? Things are not working right on Ebay because that is the way Ebay is now days. If you stay there and put up with it you must be a masochist.

My two cents

Great post Bill. Very Happy

Yes, the feedback system leaves sellers behinds in the wind.

I just got my first negative feeback from an unreasonable buyer. I blocked her user ID and have warned other sellers about this buyer too. That's about all that can bedone now. I refuse to leave her positive feedback when the transaction was a negative experience.

Sellers, apparently there is a way to have negative feedback removed on your account without using a revision on your buyer. All you need to do is ask eBay Hong Kong not ebay US to do it. Ebay Hong Kong has different policies when it comes to removing feedback and it just takes an email to do it. How you get the email is up to you.

For example. If you received a negative from a buyer you need to somehow get them (your buyer) to send an email to powersellers@ebay.com.hk and the content can be " i will remove the negative feedback left for (your ebay id goes here), the item number is (put the item number here) and the ebay ID is (the buyers ebay id)"

You need to get your buyer to send the email via their registered eBay email address and it will drop the negative.

The buyer can simply agree to change their feedback. Then the seller sends them the form, and it's changed.

But the seller is limited as to how many they are allowed to do this.

I've not contacted an attorney for my own reasons. Though few of my friends have. I can help you with telling you where to look for help. I any case its better to seek legal consultation for this kind of issue. Try this.

Besides the fact that there is no way to verify why someone is put on such a list, there could be some serious legal issues to maintaining such a site.

This has been done several times since 01-29-08 but several sites have been removed for various reasons, including legal issues.

When I first saw those kinds of sites, I thought they were a good idea but when I thought about someone placing another persons name on the list simply to be vindictive, I changed my mind.

These kinds of lists are a bad plan.

Hi Cindy,

How would you react to finding your own name on that list?

hi - here is the thing. If a seller is willing to bend over backward (send new one, refund etc etc etc) then this seller should not get a negative..if you are the type of person that feel you HAVE to leave a negative and you have left negatives for other honest hard working sellers. then yes, you need to be stopped.
If i was upset and left an (undeserved) negative to one seller and I am on the list, thats fine. if i left 10 negatives to 10 sellers and i am on the list 10 times then I should be blackballed. how would you like if after leaving 10 negatives, i then come to your ebay store. you wouldnt want to know about me and block me?
as for leagal issues. why? as ebay puts it "its mearly an opinion of a few sellers to make ebay a safer place'

I've always had a simple policy regarding feedback.

If I get my item(s) in a timely fashion, the item is "as described" and the shipping is reasonable, then they get positive feedback and all 5's on their DSRs.

In other words, they did what they were supposed to do.

On the other hand, if there was a problem with the item, and the seller wasn't willing to make good voluntarily, causing me to file a complaint with Paypal, they get a negative feedback and whatever DSRs they've earned.

In other words, If I have to file a complaint to get my money back, the seller deserves nothing more than negative feedback.

In another case, I had a seller take my money, and then ship my items to somebody else. After two weeks, I inquired as to where my items were, and got no answer for something close to 21 additional days, until I let them know that I was about to file a complaint with Paypal.

Then they admitted that they did indeed screw up and wanted to know if I wanted my money back or to wait to see if they could get my items returned from the person they sent them to.

I got my refund on the 45th day after payment.

What kind of feedback would you have left them?

What I said was - there are people on those lists that do not belong on them.

Say a fussy buy burned my behind. They didn't do anything real bad but drove me buggy with questions. Then I put them on the list simply because I felt they were a pest.

Or what about my competitor, who also buys? What if I want to knock him off the net in whatever way I can? I put him on this list just as a means to stop him from purchasing shipping supplies or whatever online and to mess with his reputation...

Believe it or not, that kind of stuff does happen.

As far as the list as a means to warn other sellers:
They have to know that the list exists and where to find it before it will help anyone. Then of course, if the info on the list is tainted, it really won't help anyone.

Several of these lists have come and gone and there is a reason for that.

First and foremost, they are unreliable and secondly, there are legal issues for the keeper of such lists.

i woul dhave left a neg for not responding. but if he would have responded and apologized and rushed another one, there are sellers that would still leave a neg and thats wrong. again, if a name is on the list once, its not a big deal, but if a person has taken advantage of his or her power to leave a neg and dosent understand that sellers want to make it right (and there are such people), and 20 sellers report them to the list, would you want that customer at your shop? i think not.

And when eBay finds out about the list, it gets deleted, since nobody really has the funds required to take eBay on in court.

Hi,, I am new to this forum, I was with ebay for 7 years and had a feedback off over 1300 in September 2008 when ebay changed all there selling fees I did not agree with my bill. After loads of emails to ebay there told me to pay the bill and they would look into it. I did this for September, October and November. After waiting 3 months and not agreeing with my bill's ebay were given me I told them I would not pay anymore until this has been sorted. To this day Feb 2010 ebay has still not sorted it and closed my account.
This is why I have started my own auction site feesbay.com this is the only auction site to offer the sellers and buyers a residual income. For all the people you introduce to feesbay.com Feesbay will give you each month 10% of there selling fees. Plus 2% of the selling fees from whom they introduce. This could be worth thousand each month.
Hope you enjoy.
John
