It's a new system. What about the old account holders?.

Another thing I firmly believe in is an approval process for sellers.

From what I'm seeing, everybody's having to get verified - they're not doing it all at once, but a bit at a time.

I would like to see some testing of sellers. What these kids don't know about the system is positively frightening. I doubt that more than 1 person in 500 has read the Paypal User Agreement, so of course they're running into trouble because they don't know what rules to follow.

bluestreaksi is true some buyers don't know how much cost the shipping and handling, but others know or have a good idea. For example I bought from a seller and if you check his/her shipping cost is 4.6. I know by my own experience that he/she gets that number not for somebody "dinging" his/her stars. Wink

Hey, I know that shipping isn't free but when you ask $30 (Domestic Mail) and send the item in a Medium Flat Rate without any protection. You must be ready and know that you will not get 5 stars.

She's the one talking about using someone else's letterhead, not me.

And I'm still waiting for her proof from the last time she said she could pull threads supporting her position.

I'll pull whole sites, although they've been brought out before:

http://www.screw-paypal.com/index.html
http://www.paypalwarning.com/

It's not worth trying to pull up anything on the eBay forums...they are deleted almost as soon as the "non employees" spot them.

Insofar as your claim that people aren't reading PP's UA...it's not a matter of reading, it's a matter of understanding. In order to comprehend the document, it must first contain straightforward, clear and concise terms. Neither E/P does. Wording is deliberately vague so the terms can be used to the company's benefit, not the consumer (this includes both buyers and sellers.)

Here's a new Act just passed on consumer protection:

http://financialservices.house.gov/FinancialSvcsDemMedia/file/key_issues/Financial_Regulatory_Reform/Conference_summaries/protections_for_small_businesses.pdf

With some highlights:

The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act has clear benefits for you and your family, as well as for America’s small businesses. The Act:

Establishes a new independent watchdog agency with the authority to:

-ensure American consumers get the clear, accurate information they need to shop for mortgages, credit cards, student loans, and other financial products, and
-protect them from hidden fees, abusive terms, unfair terms and deceptive practices.

CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU

Strong Independence: Led by an independent director appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate, with a dedicated budget in the Federal Reserve, the Bureau will be able to autonomously write rules for consumer protections governing all financial institutions – banks and non-banks – offering consumer financial services or products and oversee the enforcement of federal laws intended to ensure the fair, equitable and nondiscriminatory access to credit for individuals and communities.

I may be (one of) the only vocal folks on this forum regarding this issue, but clearly I do not stand alone.

I'm going to return the call I got yesterday from the Buffalo NY post office.

I agree with you Blue. I have never discounted the fact there are bad Sellers out there, but I wonder why it's taken so long to ramp up this process? Is it because Amazon verifies & they are just copying?

Why don't you specify what it is you want me to produce "proof" on that I am "alone"?

Hi pot, kettle here. ARE you a PP employee?

I have already specified the proof twice - I'm not going to do it gain.

Answered your other question, too - go back and look.

Agree, but for that seller it's all about profit. The competition on eBay is steep. What I don't get is.. That seller is probably not a TRS, yet his Auctions or BIN item could still show up in the first couple of pages. That is just retarded, specially since eBay is promoting the heck out of free shipping. So wouldn't you think IF they are TRS should automatically show up higher in search? I say that because MOST TRS are ABOUT the only ones that give a damn.

Maybe, Maybe not.. You do not have to be approved to sell on Amazon in some categories.
I mean an Identity approval...
So basically when an account gets suspended they can not just create a new one. If eBay want to get better buyers they need better sellers..

You must think of it this way.. Some one, some where along the line of a buyers buying history might have gave them a discount on shipping, or the product, or refunded with out sending the item back.. So, if it happened once, then why not ask again? So they do.. People learn things from somewhere.

Just my opinion.

This was your original post on the subject: I think I'm going to send a letter to ABC and give them this thread so they know how reliable their source is for these complaints. They should know ahead of time that you stand alone on most of this.

I gave you two sources (websites) of people who are sick of PP and want them regulated. I also said, It's not worth trying to pull up anything on the eBay forums...they are deleted almost as soon as the "non employees" spot them.

And I believe I asked you to support your statement of me standing alone. Which you have not done Shocked

Really? You said,

Me: 2. Will this letter be sent on PayPal letterhead?
You: (in response to Things) She's the one talking about using someone else's letterhead, not me.
Whereupon I said: Hi pot, kettle here. ARE you a PP employee?

And still no direct answer, other than to call yourself a "Super Advisor" which frankly sounds like a neat little employment sidestep of "supervisor". All your other responses were directed to other members regarding verification of sellers.

And for USPS...I spoke with a very nice rep from the Buffalo consumer division this morning. It's the PO's usual SOP to investigate individuals mailings, or packages disappearing on a certain route, not to trace where claims are originating from (PP, in this case.) After saying Buffalo would be interested in tracking such information, he gave me a case number to pass on to Washington.

Plant a seed, watch it grow.

Go back further. It's in there.

I need not waste my time searching for something that isn't there. I must say, SDD, you sound like a typical eBay employee, throwing a red herring out if it means buying you more time.

Accounts being verified? Why would eBay waste their time? They won't even look at evidence to help a seller, even though all the work is done FOR them. I highly doubt they'd take the initiative to verify folks on their own!

I can create as many accounts on eBay as I want-and when I PO someone like Sandy Purins, she'll sanction the current ID on the forums, but leave the account live so I can still buy if I so chose. Nice way to bump the numbers for the stockholders & BOD. Although one day I caught her in an outright lie, and she completely obliterated all the accounts I had on eBay...saved me a lot of cleanup LOL.

And SDD, please do not project your feelings of "the cheese stands alone" on to others. Over 20,000 hits to this thread, and let's for grins and giggles say that about 15,000 are original hits...hmmm. Looks like you might want to review your homework~there will be a test later~

Oh, now I'm an ebay employee AND a Paypal employee?

That's just an excuse for your sloppy research.

say that about 15,000 are original hits

which means nothing out of 90 million users.

ebay + paypal = same company...and...you still haven't provided an answer

there are 90 million users on PSU??

i know when i get sanctioned from the ebay forum and the reason given is 'not following ebay employee instructions'...must be a pink chameleon somewhere in the muck!
