I'm glad you're happy with them.

I'm happy with Paypal. It doesn't cost me to make use of Paypal shipping. I can pay for it out of my Paypal account.

Paypal also only give you a 48 hour window to get a refund on misprinted postage or damaged postage. Even if the Post office messes up your mail, Paypa will NOT ALLOW you to request a refund for that postage. Stamps.com will.

I personally have a post office that is a NIGHTMARE!! They can't handle any amount of mail that I send out, they can't correctly mail things I have printed postage on, etc. So Stamps.com is a MUST instead of Paypal. Especially if you also do international.

Stamps.com does not have an integration for Blackthorne Pro, but we’re launching other cart integrations by summer with more coming later in the year. Here are the integrations scheduled to launch this summer:

OSCommerce
ZenCart
Magento
Xcart

Stamps.com has announced that it will continue to enable unlimited batch shipping for eBay sellers without any monthly subscription fees to new customers who sign up before October 1, 2010. Batch shipping with Stamps.com allows eBay sellers to import sales order data and batch print all classes of USPS mail — including First Class Mail International®.

Stamps.com's free eBay program also automatically posts-back tracking numbers to an eBay seller's account.

The goal in offering a free eBay batch shipping solution is to introduce eBay users to Stamps.com's product and encourage them to explore all of the additional features which are available for the $15.99 monthly subscription. For instance, Stamps.com offers integrations with additional ecommerce platforms such as Amazon, PayPal, Yahoo!® Merchant, and Google Checkout. These additional integrations allow webstore managers to process, manage, and ship orders from multiple marketplaces using one shipping software program.

For more information on Stamps.com's free service for eBay sellers, visit http://www.stamps.com/ebayfree1/

Special Note: The Stamps.com free eBay program is only available through the link listed above. You will not find the program on the home page!

"Stamps.com Uses Social Media to Update Users During Outage"

When the Stamps.com website was inaccessible on Sunday, the company turned to social networking sites to update users who wondered what was happening. The online postage provider posted an announcement and responded to questions from users via Twitter and Facebook posts. The Facebook announcement stated:

"We are currently experiencing technical problems that may affect your ability to access Stamps.com. We are working to resolve the issue and should have it fixed shortly. I will be sure to provide an update via facebook as soon as the issue is resolved. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that this may be ...be causing. Thank you for your patience while we work to correct the issue."

Many companies fail to acknowledge technical issues or outages. Having a social media staffer may not help resolve the issue any faster, but it can reassure customers that the problem is not on their end and that the company is working to resolve the issue - especially outside of customer service hours and on weekends.

The US Postal Service itself, and other 3rd party insurers will not provide insurance for packages that are shipped to many countries.

A few countries that come to mind are: Brazil, Russia, Romania, Peru, Kuwait, Poland, etc., etc.

USPS will deliver to these countries however. Are you stating the the Stamps.com International insurance is available and valid for shipments to these countries, and others, that no other insurance provider will touch?

inkfrog - shipsaver insures to a lot of countries for 1st class mail but the list is long where they do not ship to. in most cases that is fine with me as i do not ship to Russia, ukraine, mexico and about 40 other places.

for the summer only --a special is - insurance is only $0.65 per $100 domestic and $0.95 per $100 international.

The catch of course is collecting the insurance after an item is lost. How do you prove mailing on a firstclass item? you have to get a proof of mailing slip $1.15 (stand in line at the PO) then for shipsaver the buyer has to fill a form out after you fax or mail them the form and it then has to be faxed or mailed to you or shipsaver claims after it is filled out. If the buyer does not do this then you WAIT and Wait and recontact shipsaver until they agree to pass on this requirement as you cannot force a buyer to fill anything out and mail or fax it to you or claims office... get the picture? a royal pain in the behind and most will just say to heck with it i have better things to do.

its not about the insurance.. it about filing a claim and how many hoops you have to jump thru to get paid and is it really worth it on smaller items? I would like to tell those pushing insurance to please tell the complete story when trying to sell insurance to sellers... tell us what has to be done to prove a claim after we paid and the item is lost? Details please.. omitting them makes you look like you have something to hide.

Basically the insurance sellers have a great thing going... they sell you coverage you most likely will never collect as it is way too much hassle.

Stamps.com insurance does not exclude coverage to specific countries but coverage is considered void in countries that are in violation of any U.S. economic or trade sanctions. Currently, four countries are sanctioned against and it is illegal to ship to or sell to these countries. For an up-to-date list of countries, please visit the following site:

Jerryb,

You are correct, there are processes required for filing claims. While Stamps.com process is similar to other countries, we feel it is a bit easier for the following reasons:

1) We provide a simple interface that stores all of your shipment information. In the event that you need to file a claim, all of the information you need is available.

2) We allow claims to be filed for 180 days. Some insurance providers only allow for 120 days.

3) While we strongly suggest a proof of shipment (i.e. USPS receipt, PayPal screen shot of shipping label, Stamps.com log, tracking number, etc.), it is not required.

Thanks!

I actually save $$ using stamps.com over paypal because paypal requires you to use your paypal balance. I rather use my biz credit card and get my % back. This more than pays for the monthly fee and sum.

Also, this makes it easier to input my expenses into quickbooks. I can put a lump $250 in instead of $2 here and $2 there everyday.

But the real reason I am writing here is that I had a question about exporting data from Stamps.com.

After I create labels I want to take the data out (Especially delivery confirmation) for future reference. I have gone to "search" and have used the "export" function. However, that truncates the delivery confirmation number, which isn't very useful at all. Can you tell me how I can get the entire delivery confirmation in an excel sheet, along with the customer info and such?

As another option, I was thinking about using the quickbooks integration but it seems as though it only prints one label at a time instead of storing the info and allowing to print all at once. Is there a way to batch this process in quickbooks?

thanks,
el

tantalizingstiches,

Regarding the truncated tracking numbers, this is an issue with Excel converting the numbers to scientific notation. This can be fixed by importing the tracking numbers as text. Here is how you can do this:

- Export the data from Stamps.com and choose "Save" (do not choose "Open" and then save the file)
- Open a new worksheet
- Excel 2003: Data => Import External Data => Import Data OR Excel 2007: Data => Get External Data => From Text
- Choose "Text Files" to import the .CSV file
- Choose File Type - Delimited, click Next
- Select Comma delimiter ONLY, click Next
- Select/Highlight the Tracking Number column and change "Column Data Format" to "Text"
- Click Finish, and OK.

As for QuickBooks, postage for multiple recipients can be printed in batch. Here are instructions on how to do that: https://stamps.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/952/

If you need help with either of these, please feel free to email me at social(at)stamps.com or call us for immediate assistance toll-free at 1-888-434-0055, Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Pacific Time.

Thanks!
