Atomic Mall's item view page got a fresh makeover this morning, with several enhancements and updates. The main goal was to clean up the somewhat disorganized area around the item price and listing details, and give shoppers a more clearly defined set of tools and product info for a more intuitive shopping experience. I think this goal has been achieved! Take a look:
Changes:
1. New banner depicting vintage computing as a way to show how far society has progressed technologically in a short period of time. I chose a Commodore computer because it was my first, and let's face it -- old stuff is just cool.
2. Side tabs for easy submission of items to BeatMyPrice, as well as sharing noteworthy listings with your Twitter and Facebook friends.
3. Auto-Emailer function to submit listing details (with photo) to anyone's email address. This handy tool can also be used with sold out and inactive items to send an email notice to shoppers when the item becomes available for purchase.
4. "Buy Now" call to action tab displays all relevant listing information in the action window for shoppers interested in making an instant purchase.
5. "Make an Offer" function is now integrated into the page instead of a popup window. The tab displays an updated version of our Offer form in the action window, allowing shoppers to send participating merchants a lower price offer for their item. As before, the seller may then accept the offer, decline it, or respond with a counter-offer.
6. "Auction" tab reserved for future use. Click it and enter your email address to be notified when auctions are up and running!
7. Action Window shows listing information relevant to the view selected: Buy Now, Make an Offer or Auction. This view will change instantly (no page reload) depending on the tab selected. It is also "smart" in the sense that a shopper's tab choice will follow them from item to item until they change it.
8. Fave button made more prominent and also smarter, so that a logged out member will return directly to the product page they're viewing after they click it and follow the login link.
9. New "Buy it Fast" checkout option. This completely bypasses the cart system and takes a shopper directly to the order form, with a quantity of one at the advertised buy price. For buyers only interested in a single piece order (85%+ of all sales), this purchase method will reduce clicks and save time. It's also smart, so that a buyer with an item (or item
s) in their cart, will still have those items right where they left them after their Fast Buy is complete.
10. Store policies, ship methods, product attributes and warranty information now shown through clickable tabs for quick viewing.
As well as the new functions and look, the page weight was reduced by removing some javascript and obsolete code, so you should notice faster load times.
I hope you enjoy it, and more importantly I hope our buyers enjoy it! As with any upgrade, please don't hesitate to post your comments, concerns, suggestions and lottery predictions.
Cheers!
