Your a very insensitive person... picking on what people sell? Come on now... |
I'm just curious........if the mention of used Old Navy handbags makes bratpack a very insensitive person, then how would you describe the people who have bashed Wagglepop sellers for selling books, sport cards, magazines, childrens clothing, underwear, hand crocheted items, etc.? What about the calling Wagglepop sellers cult members, cheerleaders, boinktards, morons, ostriches, idiots, and dozens of other insulting names simply because they choose to sell on Wagglepop? Far worse things have also been done to slander and ridicule Wagglepop sellers, and for what purpose? I'll probably never understand it, but I do know that Princess used to be one of the main targets of the ridicule on the TT Wagglepop2 thread before she became an active poster there (because she is very young and tends to get excited, enthusiastic, emotional, changes her mind and decisions often, and posts on a number of different subjects whether business related or not ie. her kids' potty training, she was an easy target for the unkind people who took full advantage of her). I'm honestly very shocked if she's more offended by the mention of used Old Navy handbags than what was done to her by the very same people who are nice to her now that she's chosen to align herself with their views. |

If you mean that my post is proof positive of cult behavior exhibited by you and some others in your hate group, then you may be correct. |

At last report, only about 1/3 of the sellers in October are still at WP. That's only through store count alone. The actual number is far greater since many of the stragling few have opened second and third stores since that time to make up for the attrition.
It's only a matter of time before a total melt down. |

I have had 4 sales since yesterday from new members. 2 registered yesterday, and 2 have been members about a week and have new stores. That's not counting the 4 buyers who currently have stores and are long term members. This is always a slow online month, and sales have been pretty decent.
The shrinking WP store count is from sellers who had let their bill run past due for 45 days. From what I watched on my own cached pages, all but about 20 of the stores that closed had less than 5 items in them.
Again, I will speak for myself... All the promotion that is done is done by me and it doesn't cost anything but an hour a day. I treat my WP store just as I would treat a website. It is $10 a month, lower than most PHP cart websites, so I have no problem promoting it the same way. Then, it is an easy layout that feels comfortable to buyers on eBay. People shop where they are familiar. Last, my fees for those 8 sales in two days, totalling over $100... $1.60.
I may be different in my opinions, because I sell retail type products that I had left from my eBay store at far below retail prices. All the products are mine now since I liquidated the business to the chief officer of the LLC when I folded it, and it has been my only income since late November. I could possibly sustain myself for another year, but not comfortably, which is why I am reviewing 3 different job offers. My WP store will be my extra income, and I will begin reinvesting the profit the same as when I started on eBay over 4 years ago, and it will be a nice new home fund.
If the site DOES crash and burn, well, it just does. I have made enough money on it, and most others have as well, to pay for the time to build my store. I will simply move to another site and start again, which I am actually in the process of opening a second store on Ecrater.
Once again, I encourage anyone who is wanting an alternative to eBay, give it a shot. Try buying something, anything, and see how it works. If you like it, open a store and stock it with a couple hundred items. From what many current eBay store sellers say, they don't have anything better to do anyway since sales are pathetic, so what can it hurt to try? This isn't coming from a Wagglepop cheerleader, or even loyalist. It is coming from someone who has been in business management for over 13 years, for myself and others, and I am giving it a chance. |

Bolding mine.
Maybe I'm the odd man out, but our sales on eBay are doing better than ever. Granted, I haven't had eight sales in the last two days. I only average about 14 auctions a week, but 90% of them have ended with multiple bids and I've had a 100% sell thru.
I'm not an eBay cheerleader either, but it's been a darn good marketing tool for us.
So far, January has been a strong month for us with lots of traffic. |

Actually, my eBay sales this month are better than December. Most of my colleagues say the same. I am in NO WAY a bay cheerleader, as everyone here knows. I'm in the process of putting my own site together, which has taken much of my time, so I've been running very few auctions on eBay. Almost all the sales have been directly out of my store. Again, ON-LINE SALES IS MY SOLE SOURCE OF INCOME, so I can't afford to waste my time in places where I get no results or is not worth the effort and aggravation.
FYI: I was PM'd by a WP seller who's been watching this board and claims there are MANY WP sellers who are fed up with Ray and his Koolaid, but are flying low to avoid the radar. These are not sellers in default on their accounts are any of that nonsense, and they are afraid to post, but will be quietly closing and leaving their Koolaid pitchers behind.
Quiz time: Whose quote is this, "On some level, we were all just wanting to belong .. we thought we were part of a revolution." |

Sales are better than December, but you are running very few auctions? December must have been horrible.
Online sales is my sole source of income right now, and has been for nearly two years.
One WP seller can't speak for the multitudes. That's like me saying everyone there loves it because I do.
To RiverRat, I was actually talking about store sales, but when speaking of auctions, eBay usually gives you 100% sell through if you start the bid far below the value. I am glad to hear someone with auctions is getting their desired price though. That's uncommon, and will become even worse once they start hiding the bidder ID's. |

Incorrect, and totally unfounded assumption on your part. |

Online sales is my only source of income too.
1) I do have an eBay store, but it's only purpose is to "showcase" my items and use the custom pages for information. I don't do store sales on eBay. If my buyers want to BIN...they can go to my website, which accounts for over 50% of my online sales (without doing any SEO work yet).
2) I've maintained a 100% sell thru for 12 straight months and maintained Powerseller status even during the slow months. My items aren't .99 auctions. I'm starting all my auctions at the same prices I did two years ago. It's not below value and it's what I'm willing to take for the item. 80% of the time, they end higher than expected.
AND...I don't take PayPal, which according to some, limits my pool of buyers.
I have a second ID which does sell predominately in the store format. Once again, I use it as a marketing tool to send buyers to my website.

This is what I don't get. If you're having to advertise it yourself and you treat it like it was a website...why don't you just open your own website?!?!
The cost of a PHP cart website being high is a gross misconception.
My two ZenCarts combined cost me less than $28.00 per month and they aren't your "basic" starter hosting packages.
I have complete control over everything and I don't pay any FVFs.
Why not invest that $10.00 a month in yourself instead of Wagglepop? |

Nobody able to answer the quiz? I'll ask again.
Who wrote this?
"On some level, we were all just wanting to belong .. we thought we were part of a revolution."
I'm going to add another quote,
"Ultimately, the only eyes that need judge us that count are two: our own, and those of God. " |

I have a quiz for you, DB. Do you recognize this? "Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble." |
