Has anyone else noticed a decline of sales in eBay? I am down about 25 percent this week.

it`s been getting worse since before xmas

You know everyone says Christmas was bad but for me it wasn't, it just didn't last as long as it used to. I had 3000 listings and normally do 50 sales a day from dec 1 to dec 31st I was doing 100-200 orders a day then back down to 50 a day and steady until this week. This week I have been lucky to see 30-40 orders and as the week continues it is getting worse.

i could not cope doing that many orders a day thats the boring part of selling lol if i do more than 5 in a day i get fed up

i used to do 3 - 400 a week and that was so boring was ok with small items but the big boxes nooooo thanks never again

Steady for over 4 months now for me. List 5 items on Sunday, they are all sold by Monday night.

I'll probably list a few extra this week since I anticipate sales will be even better with less competition.

Would love to see your stuff. Mind giving us your ebay seller ID? You must have a real knack.

A knack? Sure, it's called a niche. It's also called selling only what you know will sell (because you've done your research), and listing only a few each week to get the buyers to instead come to your website.

At one time I would have happily have flaunted my eBay ID. Unfortunately, due to the childish mindset of this place, I choose not to reveal it.

I am everyone else here should feel honored that someone of DeeCan's obvious intelligence and business savvy would take the time out of her busy schedule to belittle and ridicule people trying to make it without relying on eBay.

In just 12 days af being a memeber she has managed to post almost 150 different ways to tell people who do not get a warm and fuzzy feeling about eBay that they are stupid.

She alone has figured out that the way to beat eBay is not to Unite, but to fragment into 11,000 little websites like she has done.

Some people might choose to call her an insecure fraud, an instigator, agent provocateur or worse. But we shoudl choose to believe that she really signed up on this site right after eBay announced the new changes to help us all see the light even though she does refuse to back up her words and claims with any real evidence or hard data.

It takes courage to do what she does hiding behind her keyboard taking potshots at everything this site stands for and she she should be applauded for it.

I am honored she takes the time to help us people less gifted or not as fortunate than herself.

I do love the sound of over-inflated balloons being popped in the morning. However, please everyone, let's do play nice. I was only wondering if DeeCan would let me go see for myself what her magic product is, but if she doesn't care to reveal her ebay ID, we will never know if she is walkin' the walk' or talkin' the talk. I respect her right to privacy. What we choose to reveal about ourselves and to whom is our own prerogative.

Ebay is very powerful and nothing can make a huge difference in their management in a week, but if you don't think the boycott has already sent a message to their stockholders and financial watchers, just go look at the auction counts for just the first 12 hours of the strike, and then look at the nicely corresponding increases in almost all of the other "alternative" selling venues. The national and e-commercia media are watching this closely, as well.

If nothing else, most small ebay sellers are at least going out to list a few things elsewhere at zero or low risk, whether or not they have been able to afford to participate in the ebay strike. I think they will find (as I have over the past few months, thanks to lots of positive and helpful support here at PSU--big thumbs up) that sales are slow in getting off the ground, but it's a much less stressful and much less expensive environment for selling online than is ebay.

One day soon, I expect to be making enough money elsewhere that I can sign off ebay for good, while I still have a great feedback rating, earned through honesty and hard work. And, I might add, loyalty to ebay. Too bad that this is a company which has been overtaken by greedheads who have not a clue about the concept of loyalty and responsibility to their sellers as being the number one sustainability factor in their continued success. Oh, well, water under the bridge. Moving on.

PSU is not JUST for powersellers. That was the original intent, but when they couldn't get enough REAL PSers to join, they started letting the riffraff in; such as yourself.

And, you need to know, someone can sell 1 item a week and, at the right price, can easily maintain powerseller status.

Again, this is a prime example of why I come to tell you all just how silly and ridiculous you sound. Not to mention the need to mention my panty size. On that issue, back it up with facts and data, as Ken says.

I will say this, Colonel, I'm sure that it would be an honor and a priviledge for you to even get into my panties (large or not) since chances are, with your doofus-minded attitude, you seldom are allowed to see a woman's panties; much less her hooha.

No, I have my facts correct. You want everyone to Unite behind eBay and "use" eBay to promote our own little websites which would add up to 11.000 sites based on the current PSU membership. Too many of the small sellers would either go under or be forced to sell exclusively on eBay with no viable alternatives.

While I agree with you that eBay should be used to drive people towards our own sites. We disagree that people should be utilizing and promoting alternate "community" sites. Small sellers can do well on these sites with the support of other sellers.

You may laugh and ridicule all these alternate sites. Take a look at mine and laugh as well, I do. But I know I will get better and the site will get better too.

Check it out in 2 years. My site will have more collectable patches on it than eBay has. The only sellers left on eBay will be the sellers of fake patches and that's only because they won't be allowed to mislead buyers on my site like they do on eBay.

Right now the top 3 sellers under eBay's"best match" test are the 3 biggest sellers of fake patches on the internet. They have been reported to eBay to no avail. The most ironic thing is now they sport "Stamp Out Reproduction" tags on their site. I guess they feel if they say it loud enough and someone might believe them. What is sad is that new collectors do believe them and these sellers thrive courtesy of eBay.

I feel like eBay is BEGGING someone to take over their patch business. It will be slow going but I am happy to oblige.

No, I think most of us have figured out that you thrive on the attention you get making making outrageous statements. I guess the worst thing we could do to you is to ignore you but much like a bad car accident or a train wreck, no matter how disgusting, horrible or distasteful, we are too curious to look away.
