My advice is, if you decide to sell on OLA do it monthly at $8.00, I do not advise the founding members membership, experience it first as a monthly seller to see if the traffic is there for your product, now when you do your analysis take into account how many are sellers/buyers and how many are actual buyers that do not sell. List your auction in the forums often and frequently. Then make your decision about the site.

One last thing, do not I repeat do not leave a post stating you are leaving and why. Just trust me on that one.

Today was my last day, and it was because of lack of sales and lack of lookers/bidders.

buyer111us --

May I ask what you where selling? Granted, there's more to consider than just the product line, but knowing what you are selling may be helpful to others.

Certainly Mongoose,

I sold Victorinox Swiss Army Watches, Disney Watches, Armitron Character Watches, Seiko Watches, Wenger Swiss Watches, Wittanuer Swiss Watches, Invicta, Croton, Timex as well as other well known brands like Marc Ekco, Ashworth, Lucien Piccard, Roca Wear, Casio, Accutron and Calvin Klien all authentic, brand new with papers and factory sealed.

Also Russ Berrie Products and Yomiko Classics

Gold Jewelry like rings, earrings, necklaces.

Silver Peace Jewelry handmade Sterling Silver and Gemstone items made by former human slaves from Poland, Bali, Nepal, India all with papers.

Regular sterling silver jewelry from Rings to Bling

Fine Murano Glass and sterling silver jewelry from Italy, not these 3.99 cent murano glass you see everywhere but the authentic handmade products from Designer Alan K. with certificate of authenticity from the Factory it was made in Italy.

So you see I sold a range of products, I sold some jewelry and all that I sold at auction lost money. Only 3 watches sold each for less than 13.00, no silver peace sold, no Russ Berrie or Yomiko Classics.

buyer111us...I had looked at your items and they are high end. I remember the watches and a couple of the glass but not some of the others. But with high end items I think that was the problem besides not staying longer to get your name out there. I think your buyer base...who has the money for them... has not a clue what is going on with EBay. They see the ads on TV and in the movies for Ebay They have been conditioned only to EBay like the rest of us have been over the years.

There is no other site that you can go to and expect to see sales like Ebay. It is too bad you did not stay as a FM with a store. If you are selling that quality of items a mere $96 a year is nothing then The only thing to do is make your own site but you will be paying about that much or more a year anyway and still have to advertise.

It did not help OLA does not have our items on the Google feed right now. That is why they are working so hard to rewrite the site which should be done by the end of June. Then the idiot Google people will see fit to give back the feed. Google said jump through this hoop and as soon as OLA got the money...they did just that..jumped through their hoop to get us the feed back.

Sign up at Gails http://sellingbeyondebay.ning.com/. You can get ideas on where to go to get your name out there and find fellow sellers.
Have you joined the Merchant Circle or http://www.linkreferral.com/adwel.pl ? The last one is interesting. There are so many ways to get your name out there but you have to find a place and stay so they can find you. Hope you find that place. It is not easy .

Quote: › Most people go to google shopping search to look
for an ITEM they want -- that's where the lack of a
google feed by OLA is painfully absent.

I put in a product name for an item offered on several
ecommerce sites. The search results come back with
listings on eBay, eCrater, Specialist Auctions, eBid ---
but not for an identical listing on OLA.

This is why OLA's inability to feed their products into
google database is such an issue. People looking for
something will not find OLA listings when searching
for them through google shopping.

OLA has been claiming they were going to implement
a google feed for over two years now - and it still has
not happened.

Until the people at OLA decide to make this a priority
and get it done, OLA will remain an obscure website
in the backwaters of the world wide web
