Here are the sites A-J VOTE FOR UP TO 9 SITES

OTHER SITES ADDED - Reply below or PM me if I've missed one or to add your vote for other sites - listed here once they receive 2 votes, noted until then in Post #14. Please note that I cannot edit the poll above.

In the interests of gathering data from all users, I am opening a poll to see what sites many of you would recommend. You can choose up to 9 different sites when you vote, in each poll. Try to only vote for sites you have personal experience with and would recommend to others, either as a buyer or a seller.

I have tried to list by name most of the general selling sites - however the poll mechanism limited how many I could put, so I put half here and half in K-Z. If you recommend another general site, please mention it by name, below.

If you use a Dedicated Site that you recommend (PatchAuctions, WineCommune, AbeBooks, MetaExchange, StampWants, JustBeads, xsNitro, and others), please mention it, and what it specializes in, below. (I suspect that many get their best results on a dedicated site.)

I also know that a great many of you highly recommend One's Own Website - I tried to have a vote for that, but it was too many choices.

Thank you for participating. I hope the results will be helpful to all.

P.S. For the curious - I have learned that 20 is the maximum items, and 9 is the maximum for multiple choice when creating a poll.

Wow. So far only 7 folks out of 10,000 members have voted. I am surprised. All the new folks say "where should I go?" "what site do you recommend?"

I'm hoping our collective experience might give a "thumbs up" to several sites by having many members vote a recommendation for them. This is why I maxed the number of votes each person can give - so users of many sites can vote for all (well, up to 18 ) of them.

This is not meant to be another "where shall we go" poll, but a collection of positive reports. So many lookers... let's have some voters! (Besides, how can I make eBay look really bad without the contrasting votes? (evil grin)

Thanks again!

Hi,
We use eBid (5 stores). All are showing steady growth in sales.
Also eCrater and Loudfrog (currently 1 store on each) and 1 you may not know, Bidsell.com.au an Aussie based international site. Currently 1 store but will be opening another 4 as time permits.

Here's a link to Bidsell:-

Have a good day. Aussie Girl.

OK, I finally got over to both of your polls.

I voted for the sites I list on that do a decent job FOR ME. There are several other sites I've used on these 2 lists that I would in no way recommend to others and a couple of sites that others have done well on but I haven't.

But that is the nature of the alt sites. Not everyone is going to do well on all the sites.

But this should at least give newbies an idea of the various sites that seem to do better.

Carol

I use cyberattic.com TIAS.com goantiques.com and ecrater.com. All have a reason why I duplicate my listings. Some sites may have a sudden run on say Fire King while another is selling pottery.

Yo! Dudes & Dudettes!!
I can only list 20 items to a poll. So...
This poll is for the sites that start with A through J.
The link to the K through Z poll is in post #1
- OLA & NWBvd are in that post's poll!

If you haven't yet, go to the other poll (link in post #1) and vote for your sites that are alphabetically from K to Z!!

Other sites mentioned added to alphabetically appropriate thread. Once a site receives a second vote, I will add it to the poll in post #1 here or in K-Z as appropriate - if more votes are left for sites not in the main polls, they will be added to the manual list below until they receive a second vote, then moved to post #1 (I can edit it) to make them easier to find and see.

Suggested additions:

01 Alsoshop.com
01 ArtByUs.com {Dedicated to Original Art}
01 BestBay4You.com {Detroit, Michigan}
01 BidNWin.co.uk
01 Bidsell.com.au
01 CollectorsCarAuction.com
01 CyberAttic.com
01 Fididel.com
01 Flippid
01 goAntiques.com
01 GoShopNChat.com {hosted by InstantOnlineAuction.com}
01 JaxBids.com {Jackson, Michigan}

Please be sure to actually mark the boxes in the polls and VOTE for those sites that are available - I cannot add to those numbers because you mention them in your post - for instance eCrater. If it's listed and you want your vote to count, make sure to actually vote above.

Come Vote if you haven't yet! Make sure to click the link to also vote for the K-Z sites!!

Note that BestBay4You.com IS an open auction site - I made a mistake yesterday when I put BestBay4U which is NOT an open site.
