And I don't know about anybody else but I don't buy things I don't want or need. It never even occurs to me to look some place else if I can find what I want close to "home". But then I live in a small community too and I will support the small local grocery store if I need bread and may pay 10 cents more for it than if I drove the extra miles to Wal-Mart...because it is part of my home...but I don't buy bread unless I need it.
Sorry to be a little hard-headed about this issue but when I was looking for alternative sites about a year ago I read that same sentiment in a lot of posts about a lot of sites....and I personally have found that it does not hold water... |
I agree with you 100% on this point. Seller-to-seller sales could be one of the largest misconceptions in this business as it relates to some sites. I don't know of a single sale that I've ever made on either eCrater or Blujay that was to another seller on the site. On Wagglepop, sales to other sellers have accounted for only a very tiny fraction of my overall sales revenue. Seller-to-seller sales are usually very different from sales that come from newly registered buyer only members. The $200., $100., and $50. sales that are critical to my survival ALWAYS come from new members. The rare seller-to-seller sales have always been under $30. transactions. Still, I totally appreciate business from my selling friends just as much as business from the buyers who come in 'off the street'.
As for this contest, I'm not sure what to do for it. Usually I get more sales from eCrater than Blujay, but lately it's been not much from either. I could probably get more listings up faster on eCrater than on Blujay, so I may do something on eCrater for that reason. Then again, I may just work with particular items that I want more exposure for, and put them on both sites. |

Classic...you know this could amount to sales!
I just did a squidoo lens on this...not up just yet...but heres the link anyway.. Blujay Verus eCrater...two great marketplaces go head to head I have spots for BOTH blujay AND ecrater stores to list their links IF and ONLY IF you are committed to listing in July! Also have a "Duel" set up.... ought to be fun!
More items can mean more sales!
IT IS NOW up and running... Anyone can add their stores and comments to this...you do NOT have to be a squidoo user!
So far..no ecrater sellers...come on people! |
